Our first time was April 2024 when we visited Berlin to celebrate my birthday. We loved Berlin so much we came back in October for our anniversary and celebrated here. The chef was very creative with each dish and each had so many flavors. We got the wine pairing which complemented the food very well. Service was great and attentive. It was also nice that one of the staff remembered us from our first visit. We enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back the next time we visit.

We enjoyed our evening at Cookies Cream! The food, although vegetarian and none of us is actually vegetarian, was exciting and creative, with lots of intensity in taste. We didn’t miss meat one bit! :)
The atmosphere was cool on one hand, as the restaurant is located in a big industrial building, on the other hand, the acoustics of the room made it difficult to have a conversation, and there’s not much privacy as it’s one big room filled with tables, placed very close to each other. The service was also rather impersonal and the waiters seemed to be running from one table to another as fast as they could.
Overall, the restaurant has great food and the place has a cool artsy vibe, yet it’s not a cozy date-night restaurant.

If you plan to visit this place, be prepared for this restaurant to blow your mind.
Placed in the silent, unassuming back alley to the Westin, this restaurant is nothing of what you’d have an impression of as you walk into it.
You are welcomed into the hands of their fantastic staff, who come around with smiles every time and care to check how you are feeling. It feels like you are dining and also constantly being hugged ❤️
We asked for the Magnificent Seven in all its glory and were totally blown away. Paired with the restaurant's non-alcoholic pairing, the flavors took our tastebuds for a ride.
Overall, this place is perfect for a date or an intimate evening for someone close to you.
I would certainly recommend that you arrive by 18:30 and be prepared to spend your evening here, blown away by the magic you see unfolding in front of you, course after course!
A definite must-visit if Michelin is on your palette! ❤️
A special kudos to the staff for making our dinner an dining experience!

Ordered the 7 courses. Overall an incredible vegetarian culinary experience. Each dish was creative/novel, a unique menu filled with combinations that surprised me.
A interesting juxtaposition between the casual atmosphere and the Michelin starred fine dining experience. Eccentric decor. Service was impeccable.
7 courses was 140 euros. Was able to get 15% off by booking online a couple days ahead of time.

Cookies is known for being a vegetarian one-star Michelin restaurant. What comes short in my opinion is the surprise and experience you will get eating there!
We love the location, the hidden steel door entrance and the stylish warehouse interior. But the food….what an amazing surprise and throughout the menu a wonderful journey we didn’t want to come to an end. Every single dish created joy and even weeks later we keep the memory of taste and presentation. Although the portions looked small, we left fully feeded and very happy. The menu is full of creativity and courage - the tomato as main component of the dessert was my personal highlight and made the whole experience unforgettable. They don’t serve Amuse-Bouche, the butter and chocolate are vegan - but it all makes sense and is part of this experience full of surprises. We have been to Cookies a few times - will soon be back.

Consistently Excellent – A Berlin Classic
Borchardt never disappoints. The food was outstanding as always—classic dishes executed perfectly, with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The service was attentive and professional, and the staff made the experience even more enjoyable with their warmth and efficiency.
The elegant yet relaxed atmosphere makes it ideal for both special occasions and casual dinners. Whether you’re craving their legendary schnitzel or just a great glass of wine, Borchardt delivers.
A true Berlin institution—always worth a visit!

Great food - the rest kind of sucked. We both had the schnitzel and agreed it was the best schnitzel we'd ever had. Unfortunately that's where the good points end. The whole restaurant is basically one big table - we were touching elbows with our neighbours. It is also impossible to have any kind of conversation as you can't even hear yourself think! Staff are just run off their feet so service is somewhat slow. All in all - definitely an experience, not necessarily a good one.

What a fun place to visit and take in the vibes. I came from New York for my birthday dinner and it was very appropriate for the occasion. The schnitzel is one of the best things I’ve eaten and I enjoyed it with a pornstar martini. Service was spotty but can be expected from a busy place. Environment is gorgeous and would love to go back

Good and tasty food but requires some fine tuning. Great cocktails! Especially the Negroni

We reserved 8 seats at 10:30pm but the restaurant is crowded. We have to wait around 15 mins to get table (although we reserved) we got the place downstair. Maybe it our fault that didn‘t expect that it gonna be like a club at downstair. The waiter didn’t mention it also. We checked the reviews and it looks like a dining restaurant, but it’s not. So if you want a place for talking and eating pleasantly - not dancing and all over with smoking, don‘t forget to reserve EG floor!!
Moreover, we ordered Whiskey sour at the bar but one of them came with decorated fruit but two not, the bar was very busy and the bartender spoke with us not so nice. However, the waiter who took care of our table is nice. The food is ok, schnitzel is huge.

We found this restaurant while wandering through Berlin. We had been looking for a German restaurant to experience German food. Wow. We so so pleased with this restaurant. We shared a schnitzel with an extra side of sauerkraut followed by an apple strudel. The service was great and the food was way better than our expectations. The location was great for our tour through the sights of Berlin. If given the opportunity we would definitely eat there again.

Augustiner am Gendarmenmarkt is a fantastic Bavarian restaurant with an unbeatable location overlooking the beautiful Konzerthaus at Gendarmenmarkt. The atmosphere is warm and traditional, making it a perfect place to enjoy hearty Bavarian cuisine.
The potato soup was delicious—rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The schnitzel was absolutely massive and perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining juicy inside. Everything we tried was well-prepared and full of authentic taste.
The service was friendly, and the overall experience was excellent. Whether you’re looking for a great meal, quality beer, or just a cozy spot to soak in the view, this place is a must-visit!

I was recommended this place by a friend who lives in Berlin, and it lived up to the hype!!
Upon arrival, the atmoshphere was great, and we really felt the authentic German restaurant vibe we were promised. The staff were great and over the evening they gave us free schnapps. The food was also very good, and it was nice to be eating German food alongside Germans and not tourists.

A nice location with bar atmosphere.
My friend and me came the place around 7pm, the hostess guided us find a table and then ordered the food. Everything is just normal. I ordered the pork shoulder and it’s really greasy for me and really large portion for two ppl at least.
It’s quite noisy inside, but it’s like a bistro so it’s fine.

A good beer restaurant in traditional German-Bavarian style.
We ordered a crispy pork knuckle with fried potatoes to share. The knuckle was exactly how I wanted it—really crispy and very tasty. The portion was huge, and the two of us barely managed to finish it.
The draft beer was super fresh. I had a liter of light Augustiner and 0.5 of Edelstoff—both were excellent. My girlfriend had a Radler, and even though she normally doesn’t like beer, she was happy with it too.
But there’s one thing that applies to many Berlin restaurants—the waitstaff expecting tips. I’ve never understood or accepted that. If I enjoy the service, I always tip voluntarily without being told. That’s the only reason my rating is 4.5 instead of 5.

This restaurant offers a truly elegant atmosphere in a charming neighborhood.
The food is exquisitely presented, and the service is impeccable, significantly enhancing the overall dining experience.
The truffle pasta is rich, and beautifully balanced. Don't miss the crème brûlée; it's a must-have dessert.
A splendid dining destination that promises an unforgettable experience!

Fancy looking restaurant, impressive decor, and vibe. It's definitely good for a business meal. Anything else, it would almost be a little too much for me as it is quite big and open, so it doesn't feel intimate or romantic.
The service was very polite and attentive. Big wine selection across all regions in Italy and out glasses were never empty.
I wasn't quite impressed with their starters selection and had the pear rucola salad, which was fresh and tasty but also very simple.
I then had the lamb ragu Papadelle, it was flavoursome and tasty. Nothing extraordinary, though.
It has a good location, great service, good food, it's a save bet for some kinds of meals but I wouldn't rush back if I'd be in Berlin for pleasure.

Next to the Westin grand hotel. Nice lunch set menu. The service is friendly and attend to detail. The food is well prepared with freshness bread with different selection. Melon cold soup to open the taste buds. The cod fish is grilled and then baked with the right seasoning to reach the right tenderness. The service makes the overall experience nicely presented. With the espresso as the finale, The smile of the waitress also beautifully endorsed the Italian style of service. Well done!! 😉

Update: wow. Order the chicken thigh (Coscia d’anatra). It was just perfect.
The restaurant is located in a very nice area in Berlin, very central and well connected. The staff is very attentive and friendly, offering a very nice service. The food was very good, but the star of the show for me was the bread they serve with pasta. It’s simply fantastic.
Overall a nice experience and well recommended!

The vibe of the restaurant is really nice, perfect for date night or a romantic dinner. The food, I find it quite average compare to the price. The ingredients are very fresh and top quality but the taste is quite generic, salty and nothing special. My spaghetti dish, the noodles are a little too firm to be al dente. In general, this place offers excellent service and good quality food but I just have a higher expectation when it comes to the taste especially for a restaurant like this.

Very friendly and accommodating toward Americans! The vibe and atmosphere was similar to a diner, however, the food was of the highest quality and delicious. The Schnitzel was massive and tasty. The Goulash was surprisingly good, tender, and hearty. The bathrooms were clean and the service was excellent and very friendly. Never rushed or ignored. It’s walking distance from the gates, a very safe and authentic place for a meal in Berlin. Not very crowded and no reservations required.

This German cafe has the ambiance of a fine dining chain, but unfortunately, the food falls short. We tried the cream soup, which was delicious, but the accompanying bread was extremely dry. The Caesar salad, despite the staff’s commendable effort to accommodate our dietary needs (no cheese or vinegar), was overly saucy and unpleasantly watery. The Kaiserschmarrn was another letdown, far from the quality we expected.
On the positive side, the staff were kind and attentive, and the restaurant’s toilet facilities were impeccably clean, with a dedicated cleaner maintaining them after each use (though tips are optional).
While the service and cleanliness impressed, the overall food quality makes it hard to recommend this cafe.

Nestled in the heart of Berlin, Einstein unter den Linden offers a delightful dining experience steeped in tradition and elegance. The restaurant's ambiance is special, with its classic decor and warm lighting creating a welcoming atmosphere.
My visit for breakfast was a treat for the senses, as I indulged in the Sylter Frühstück, a delectable assortment of shrimps, gravlax with horseradish, smoked halibut, radish, lemon, and a basket of freshly baked bread accompanied by creamy butter. The quality and generous portion left me impressed and eager to return for more.
The in-house baked bread was a standout, and the coffee proved to be a satisfying complement to the meal. Despite the overall positive experience, the service left something to be desired, as our waitress came across as pushy, particularly when it came to tipping.
Despite this minor setback, Einstein unter den Linden remains a must-visit establishment for those seeking a taste of traditional cuisine in an unforgettable setting. I look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu offerings.

The food and the service were phenomenal. I had traditional sausage with cabbage, my husband had the soups and variety of sausages. We finished the dinner with a cup of three scoops of ice cream and apple strudel. Everything was just perfect. Our waiter spoke English and was very nice and attentive. Portions were good and the price were fair. We love this place and definitely will recommend.

We had to wait a bit to be sited but our waiter was very nice to us at all times. The food was also very good and I think it's a good place to try German food. They also have this cool beer with sparkling water and raspberry syrup, which was light and delicious.

The food is, spectacular. I had calf liver, apple strudel with whip cream and ice cream for dessert. A glass of Österreich Austrian red wine and an espresso.
Liver with mash potato's and gravy was totally delicious specially the sauce and the meat was perfectly cooked.
Apple strudel freshly made it and the ice cream is delicious.
About the wine, one of the best I have ever had.
Espresso also one of the bests I drink in a restaurant.
More and more importantly service is amazing. Waiters are very friendly and professional. Totally 10/10. I will be back in my next visit in Berlin.

The meat options are great and delicious! I took the flanksteak medium-rare 350g and it was very juicy. The beer could be a bit colder. The 4 stars is because they made some mistakes eith the cooking level of the meat and prices, but I guess It's also because you are in one of the nicest areas of Berlin. The restaurant is quite cozy and the staff was very kind.

We ordered beef goulash, cheese nacho and 250 grams ribeye. Goulash soup, is not like a beef stewed and rich beef broth. It has tenderloin in the soup. Similarly with the nachos. Cheese is not melted but generous amount of tenderloin beef. 3 sauces are put in little saucer. Medium ribeye turned out to be medium well. Nice environment with open kitchen style. Waiter (Ming) is attentive although he is the only person covering the entire floor. What we don’t like about this place is the bar tender. As a tourist, asking for Wifi password is very common. To my surprise, the bartender stopped Ming from providing me the password. He claimed that when they share the wifi, it will disrupt their operation. Seriously?? Isn’t wifi is something very common? Not the expert that i enjoyed.

Had a 400g sirloin steak, it's good, but really too much for 1 person!
Don't get more than 200g, or you get tired of chewing 😅

Very nice restaurant. Really pleasant, fresh, specious and beautiful interior. All meals were very tasty. Goat cheese salad was served with garlic bread, very delicious and fulfilling, as well as meat was very tasty. As a side salad to meat, you can choose and put the salad yourself from buffet. Good restaurant to eat in Gendarmenmarkt.

This is the best steak we've ever had. We had a Châteaubriant between two, a 180g filet for our youngest, and a 300g sirloin for the eldest. All of the sides, the sauces, and most importantly the steaks were incredible. The steaks were absolutely incredible and had very little sinew, with just the perfect amount of marbling to create tremendous flavour. We would absolutely return and could not recommend this enough. It trumps every steak restaurant we've ever been to in Germany, UK, US, France, Spain, or elsewhere. They also accommodated rare steaks and brought a hot stone out for finishing which is rare (no pun intended) for steaks in Germany. Well done MAREDO...
you've set a very high bar!

I love the chain of Maredo and love that specific one.
They let me in late when the kitchen almost closed.
I loved the food and the place.
Editing: November 2024 visit.
Disappointing service.
The worst is the prices that became so expensive.
The goulash soup was very small. About one third of what I expected.
The chain seems to change its direction and I will stay away as well.
