We were disappointed. The place was more run down than expected and the food disappointing. The pizza was OK but the pasta was bland and very greasy. I ordered what appeared to be (on the German menu) potato skins. The Cheese Skins turned out to be baked potatoes... I will take the hit for that. We left about half the meal on the plate.. paid and left. Won't return and would not really recommend it.

We had lunch here and the food is nice. There’s a curious happy hour with dishes for 9,50€ each. Prices of drinks are Berlin normal ones. The thing is we ordered two Coca Colas and we received two glasses with “cola”, but obviously it wasn’t original Coca Cola. So…soft drinks should be cheaper for sure…The service is very nice but the local needs to be refurbished a lot. Manu sofas are broken, the local and glasses weren’t that clean…I guess they need more hands.Good idea if you want to have lunch with cheap prices!

I visited the place simply because I was just passing by. The first impression was ok, there was music from the 1960s in the background. Then the menu arrived and it looked terrible. I felt like washing my hand right after. The waitress was polite, but the food was truly disappointing. Hardly ever do I come across such a bad pizza. The dough was like a huge crisp, there was much too much cheese and its quality left a lot to desire. I'm definitely not coming back. Sorry. :(

Food is tasty, a bit big portions for us. Service is friendly and nice atmosphere.
Seda Haroutunian - 6 months ago
It was such a nice place with a great portion size. We took fries with cheese and it was the biggest I have ever seen. Not the tastiest one (to my opinion the fries were not that tasty), but great for 2 people. I also took a breakfast, which was filled up with fresh fruits and amazing jam. It is 25€ for 2 people. We also took 2 glasses of juice.

a lovely restaurant I’m Berlin for some delicious and authentic food!
We were brought here at the end of our food tour by our guide and it did not disappoint.
The ambience is lovely, and the is both indoor and shaded outdoor seating available. Great place for beer too! Many many varieties.
We ordered a beer flight and cherry spritz, as well as Cherry juicy for non -alcoholic preferences. Lovely drinks!
We ordered a popular dish called tarte flambe , would definitely recommend, it’s think and topped with cheese and meat.
The swarian cheese spatzle was amazing, so cheesy and indulgent.
To top it off, we got the “pork knuckle ”, I haven’t had this delicious meat in a while. The quantity is really large so perfect to share.
Overall a wonderful experience , would come again .

We signed up for a brewery tour as one of the excursions which Viking cruise took us here!
When we arrived at 7:00 PM, it’s almost full house already. So do make reservations if you like to come!
The pork knuckles they served was one of the most tender one we had for my wife and I been in the Germany for over 10 days now!
We drink Pilsner beer and bocks beer, both are pretty good!
Then we have a brewery tour and beer testing which I am not too fond of their dark beer!
I it was a very interesting evening. If I come back to Berlin again I will definitely come here to have a few beer and a meal.

Very nice brewery Das Lemke pub. Wide selection of beers on tap. German cuisine. Friendly staff. The terrace is nice.

We had a great time thanks to our super nice waiter, Ivan. He was super fast, got us food before the kitchen closed and advised us on beers. Food was good but overpriced.

Great beer selection. Decent food, nice beer hall vibes. Service is very much in the German tradition: short, brief, and slow to take order or payment! As long as you go in expected that you’ll have a pleasant time.

This place is popular. Make sure you make reservations ahead. We got lucky and went in early to get a table. Its super busy even on weekdays. The tapas are delicious. They remind me the days in Spain.

A bit touristy but great food and service. The manchego cheese is amazing but the cold cuts felt a bit cheap. Dates in bacon are highly recommended, salted potatoes also. The tables are tiny so it would be a great place for wine and snacks, not much more.

Excellent find. Nice little tapas spot in the middle of a cool neighbourhood. Excellent selection and service. Really enjoyed everything we had. Wine was on the pricey side. I would recommend a bottle over a glass for value. Will definitely be back.

We had a fantastic experience at Yosoy Tapas! Even though we were the last customers of the night, the staff went above and beyond to serve us amazing dishes and ensure we felt welcome.
The atmosphere was vibrant and cozy, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed evening. The lovely staff truly made our meal enjoyable, always checking in on us and sharing recommendations. Their enthusiasm for the food was contagious!
Each tapas dish was delicious, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. From the classic options to some unique creations, everything we tried was top-notch.
Overall, the service was perfect, and it’s clear that the staff genuinely cares about their customers. If you’re in Berlin and craving great tapas with an inviting atmosphere, Yosoy Tapas is a must-visit!
Thank you 😊

Didn’t have food but it looked great. Great atmosphere watching the rugby, staff were great and the Guinness excellent. Also, a great stopping point on the way to the airport with the train station right above the pub and a direct train there!

It was very crowded and we didn't get a seat, but we really enjoyed it. The brilliant staff there even made their way through the crowds to serve people with beers — they definitely deserved a nice tip. Awesome atmosphere. A completely different attitude compared to some bar waiters here in Berlin.

Amazing atmosphere. Went to watch the Liverpool match. Staff were friendly, they also had a singer on who sang songs that every one joined in to, she also had an amazing voice. Was a great night.

Awesome Pub. Went there twice during our Berlin visit. Great atmosphere and even better music (lots of The Cure and other classic goth tunes). Food was very tasty and the service, even with a totally crowded bar, on point as well. Definitely recommend going there if you want a pint in a cosy setting with great music.

Do not come here without cash. They will not accept card payments unless the bill is €30 or more. I was a solo tourist and my bill came to €26.90. I have travelled across Europe and had never come across this until now, €30 minimum is not really normal.
Otherwise, my food was nice and I appreciated the friendliness of the waitress (despite the payment rules) and outdoor seating area.

I had to get some hangover pizza. Ibfoumd Aposto which looked good.
Pizza was good, but the place was empty, I was the only one there. Ok, it was somewhat between lunch and afternoon tea time so no wonder there was not many people eating...on a Sunday afternoon. Most important, pizza good, I got rod of my hangover and it was a beautiful day.

A lovely experience visiting Aposto. Despite having no reservation we were seated immediately. The pizza was delicious and service was great. A lovely atmosphere. We also appreciated not being rushed out despite it being busy! Would highly recommend.

Service is astonishing. Waiters have good sense of humor. I like to come hate for some drinks and desserts on Sundays.
Nothing special, but it feels like home ❤️

My third visit I usually only visit in September post marathon. Great atmosphere usually! We were there for 1st of May. It was bloody baking outside. It was much quieter than usual. Service was attentive and friendly. Prices have gone up. Still a good choice if you fancy a mid priced steak.

I had the ribeye stake (the big one)
It came with garlic bread, salad, and baked potato.
I ordered the stake medium cooked.
The stake was OK. It is great to the needed level, but parts of it was very fatty. The parts with no fat were so good.
The baked potato was so good.
The garlic bread and the salad were perfect

Block House Berlin remains a solid choice if you’re looking for quality cuts of beef. On this visit, the service stood out – something that hasn’t always been their strongest point. This time, however, Herman was excellent: fast, friendly, professional, and highly efficient. A real highlight of the evening.
The Prime Beef section of the menu is where Block House truly shines. Here’s a breakdown of the key cuts and portions:
• Filet Mignon (160 g, €29): The smallest option. Very tender and soft, but may feel a bit too light if you’re truly hungry.
• American Tenderloin (220 g, €38): A thicker, more generous filet. Great if you prefer extremely tender cuts with more substance.
• Mr. Rumpsteak (230 g, €28): A juicier, more flavorful cut with a firmer bite. Excellent balance of size, taste, and price. There’s also the Mrs. Rumpsteak (180 g, €23) – a lighter option that might not be enough for bigger appetites.
• Hereford Rib-Eye (250 g, €28.50): Nicely marbled, juicy and full of flavor. A safe and satisfying classic.
• Rib-Eye Mastercut (330 g, €32): A bigger, bolder rib-eye – grilled on lava stone for great texture. Ideal for serious meat lovers.
• T-Bone Steak (500 g, €43): The largest cut on the menu. A juicy combination of tenderloin and roast beef on the bone. Great for sharing (available for two for an extra €11), or for someone really hungry.
All steaks come with a fresh salad, house bread, and a perfectly baked potato with sour cream – a signature combo that never disappoints. For drinks, a cold beer or a glass of red wine is the perfect match for their dry-aged, grass-fed beef.
Is it cheap? Not at all – but let’s be honest: beef in Germany is expensive everywhere. That’s why pork, chicken, and fish are much more common in everyday meals. But when you’re ready to treat yourself to some quality meat, Block House delivers.
Rey R. - a month ago
The steaks are always cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. But if you think that’s the highlight, think again - the bread with butter and the potato with sour cream are next-level amazing!

Been looking for a good steak and this ribeye master cut was relatively cheap considering all the sides that come with it and has been the best steak I have had in Germany. Shout out for Timo for deep knowledge of my home country and a friendly attitude 👍

Oxymoron in Berlin is a total gem! Tucked away in the beautiful Hackesche Höfe, the vibe is cozy and stylish with a touch of vintage charm. The food is super fresh and creative — I loved the goat cheese ravioli, and the risotto was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the cocktails were top-notch. It's the perfect spot for a chill night out. Highly Recommend!

Recently, my friends and I visited Oxymoron in Berlin, and our experience was excellent. The restaurant is located in one of the beautiful inner courtyards of Hackescher Hof, very close to Hackescher Markt station, making it easily accessible while still being quiet and away from the crowds.
From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the beautiful, elegant, and cozy atmosphere. The interior is spacious, with a unique blend of modern and classic styles, creating a relaxing ambiance. The service was impeccable – the staff was friendly, quick, and always ready to recommend dishes and wines that suited our tastes.
The menu offers European and Central European flavors with interesting Asian influences, which immediately caught our attention. We ordered a variety of dishes, all of which were well-prepared, made with fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented. I personally tried the risotto, which was outstanding, with a velvety texture and a perfect balance of flavors. We were also particularly impressed by the vegetarian and vegan options, which were excellent and lacked nothing in taste. The wine pairing suggested by the staff complemented our meal perfectly, enhancing our overall experience.
The prices were absolutely reasonable for the quality of food and service we received. We left completely satisfied, both with the meal and the atmosphere. If you find yourself in Berlin and are looking for high-quality food in a beautiful and comfortable setting, Oxymoron is definitely a place worth trying!

- Apple pie cocktail
My partner got the Linguine / prawns / olive oil / chili / garlic / salicornes and a dark and stormy. Everything was amazing. The staff were friendly, spoke English, and everything was perfect!

The place is really nice, there's always a lot of people outside and inside. The food is delicious, especially the pizzas. Customer service is ok, could be better, but i guess the stress of all the people makes a difference. The chef and personnel are Italian so you know you'll be ordering the real deal.

We had a lovely lunch at Sophie’s 11 — the schnitzel was really tasty and the atmosphere felt cozy and local. Cash only, so be sure to come prepared! I stopped here for dinner and had the Beef Romulade. It was very good. The meat was very tender though slightly under seasoned. Very Large portions so you will not leave hungry!
Service was pleasant. They automatically charge a small gratuity for the table service (~5%).
Atmosphere was warm and cozy. Felt very local and nice especially with the age of the building!
It is CASH ONLY. So be prepared.
Overall good restaurant with traditional German cuisine!

I went here yesterday with my family and I just can say WOW!
Everything was absolutely amazing, the food was great (we tried the pork knuckle and Schnitzel) and the best part of all was the service. I hope I could meet such nice people in restaurants more often.
If you’re looking for a typical restaurant this is your place. Great!

Recommended by an American friend who lives a few months a year in Berlin, excellent suggestion. My wife had the devil's schnitzel, I had the goulash, and both were delicious. Potato soup to start was perfect. We did not realize there was an outside area to eat but it would not have mattered for us because it was 3° out and we needed someplace warm. The inside space was quaint, pictures on the walls, an old-fashioned cash register, only a few tables and beer taps that look like they have been there forever
