We visited Berlin for 3 nights in January (group of 4) and we went to this restaurant twice ! The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. I would highly recommended. The moussaka was divine and the atmosphere was brilliant! It was really busy on the two nights we attended. I would advise to book before going :)

From the amazing food to the super friendly staff, this Greek restaurant impressed us.
I haven't had such delicious food in a long time.
The staff was very friendly and funny. Our friend from the company spoke Greek and it was a lot of fun. Thanks for the great food and stay.
I would visit Berlin again just for this restaurant.

I had high expectations based on the great reviews, but my experience at Taverna Athene was disappointing.
Despite having a reservation, I received little attention and had to wait quite a while. The table offered was not great, and overall the service felt disorganized.
The dish I had was okay, but definitely not exceptional—nothing that would justify the wait or make the visit memorable.
Maybe it was just an off night, but I expected more from a place with such high ratings.

Another amazing experience at Taverna Athene!
Last time, we tried the chef’s special, which was a mixed grill with lamb chops, lamb skewer, and another cut—all incredibly delicious! The sides were just as good, especially the crispy potatoes and the creamy tzatziki. We also had moussaka and a fresh salad with balsamic-mustard dressing, both fantastic.
This time, we ordered Dolmadakia (Grape leaves with rice filling and homemade tzatziki),Arnisio souvlaki (a large tender lamb skewer, in our own marinade, served with fried handmade style garlic potatoes and Tzatziki) and Gyros (Pork from the rotisserie, with Tzatziki) with Greek-style potatoes.
Everything was great again! The kebab (lamb skewer) last time had smaller, more tender pieces that melted in the mouth, while this time the cuts were bigger but still juicy and flavorful.
They also serve a welcome shot of Ouzo Plomari, which is a nice touch. Even their house wine is pretty good!
Definitely coming back!

Taverna Athene was truly one of our highlights while’s visiting Berlin. We were in search of an authentic Greek restaurant to end our trip with an we can’t recommend this place enough! BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE WE HAVE WVWE HAD! The staff was so kind and caring, it felt like we were in the living room with family. We got recommendations from our servers and every bite is bursting with flavor and so much love! The spanakopita has the flakiest crust I’ve ever tasted and don’t even get me started on the tzatziki—creamy, garlicky, and ridiculously addictive.
12/10- please do yourself a favor and pay them a visit. Will be back every time we are in Berlin- we are in love!

Great hookah/shisha lounge, super friendly staff. The gentlemen who helped us were very kind through a slight language barrier, and made sure we were comfortable. Two stories, but they brought out chairs and a table for us to sit outside. Had a very good experience here for a late night smoke sesh.

I and my friends visited a shisha bar, where we ordered shisha and drinks. After receiving our bill, I bought a bottle of water and forgot to pay for it. When I arrived at the hotel, I called the bar, apologized, and offered to come and pay or transfer the amount. They told me it's not a problem and considered it a gift from the bar. Honestly, I was worried after reading some comments, but the staff at this shisha bar were very kind, and their service was excellent and fast. It's a really beautiful place.

It's a true Ethiopian restaurant in Berlin! There's a good choice of different dishes, although the portions are not that big. Prices are although very low. The waiters were extraordinary nice and the location is so pretty!

I really like this Ethiopian restaurant as it is close to my house. For the first time I ordered a salad and was a bit disappointed as it was nothing special, could have been done better at home and for the price it is not worth it.
However, the main dish was super good. I took the mix plate with lamb curry and 3 vegetarian dishes. It was super good and really filling.

Visited this cozy restaurant on a Saturday evening. Location is a little far from our hotel but we felt like eating Ethiopean food and this one had good reviews. The food is indeed well spiced. We chose the menu for 2 which consisted of beef goulash, lentils, 2 chicken drumsticks, feta, cabbage and salad. We paired it with South African white wine and Djuju Mango. Good service, nice ambiance with the candles.

When you can’t eat any more pork knuckle or doner kebab, stop in to the Blue Nile for some delicious Ethiopian food. We ordered one of the kombination platters for 2 people plus an additional side of peas with cottage cheese. The portions are generous and we couldn’t exactly finish it all but we wanted to. The cocktails are very nice (planter’s punch and black baby) and the Ethiopian beers go perfectly with the meal. Definitely recommend this little spot off the beaten path for something delicious and different in Berlin!

Place is a bit crammed but it feels like a very authentic atmosphere. I really recommend going. The food is very tasty and beer is ok. Staff was professional. We had a delicious schnitzel.

Somehow small with ample seating? Feels timeless the moment you step inside. Quaint, busy, cosy - Perfect place to stop in.
Food smells and is wonderful. Low key, filling, tasty, goes great with cold beer.
So glad we popped in!

Good food, good price, nice atmosphere. What else do you need? We tried the schnitzel and the omelette, and I will recommend both. The schnitzel is the typical one, so go for it if you are in doubt, but make sure you don’t eat before, otherwise you won’t be able to finish it.

I guess everybody comes here because of good reviews. The place has a front room which is small but I think inside and maybe even upstairs there are more tables. Not too many things on the menu. So we tried snitzel and meatballs. They were good, huge snitzel actually. Cheap compare to other places. Beers were tasty. As it's busy you don't sit around for long.

Such a great experience! I loved the history of this place. The "old" style of the restaurant transported me back to my childhood in many ways, yet still seemed in "new" condition. The service was fantastic and helped me find the right food on a cold December day.

We got a table without a reservation after a short 5-minute wait, which was great. The service was excellent – very friendly and attentive. We both ordered decaf iced lattes, which were delicious. We also had the Eggs Benedict – they were good, though not the best I’ve ever had. I personally didn’t love the black cabbage salad that came with the bread, but that’s just a matter of taste. The location is bright and open with lots of natural light, and the overall vibe is really nice. I’d definitely come back – if only for the incredibly kind and welcoming staff!

I ordered the vegan waffle. The menu says "we only have a few items so that we can make them well", which I respect and find smart. However, the waffle came out soggy and quite cold. For a Belgian waffle, as advertised, the waffle was also rather flat and undercooked. The flavors were tasty, particularly the apple quince, but after paying 16 euros, I would hope to feel moderately full, and yet my stomach is still grumbling. I loved the atmosphere, and the wait staff were kind.

We were there on a Saturday for brunch and the place itself is beautiful and love the plants on the ceilings.
We also got a place after 5 minutes of waiting. And had to wait another 20-30 minutes for our food. The portion of the egg Benedict could be larger, but it tastes very delicious. But I still liked the coffee the most. I would go again for a coffee but not for food.

I love Hallesches Haus. I should go there more often, especially during the week when it’s a bit quieter and you don’t have to stress about people lining up to be seated. The atmosphere is very inspiring, a lot of long tables to cowork or do group gatherings or small tables for more intimate settings. The menu often changes but they are always able to reinvent breakfast dishes and keep them interesting. I don’t always understand the mix of ingredients on the menu but I know it will taste amazing- and always does!
The staff is friendly! And when you are done eating, you HAVE TO visit the store. There is nothing I wouldn’t buy, and they sell amazing coffee beans too!

I can only give 5 stars (more if I could) ✨ brunch is fab, mimosas delish, the shop is unreal and full of gorgeous goodies. It’s a dream. A huge shout out to the wonderful staff. They are friendly, sweet, caring and just a vibe. Love and will definitely make this a regular spot ❤️

Oh my Gosh!!!!
Walking to find dinner and there was this incredible scent in the air and I followed it.
To be honest, I've never had a kebab in my life.
The guys that were working were very patient with me and made me this massive and most DELICIOUS thing I've eaten in a long time!
I don't know if all kebabs are like this but as far as I'm concerned, this one is AMAZING!

I stopped by late at night for a kebab. He was delicious! I would definitely recommend. The only thing was that the area seemed a bit unsafe and there were a few strange characters hanging around outside. The food was excellent though, and there are plenty of vegetarian options as well as the classic meat kebabs.
The shop is quite small and there is no place to eat - so it is strictly a takeaway place.

I stopped because I wanted a hot, solid meal.
Laby took my order, sat outside and she made everything FRESH.
I don't know about these negative comments but for the price, for the amount of food (plate full!), a solid hot meal....this hit the spot.
Thank goodness I stopped...it started raining like a monsoon!
I did pick up after myself and took the plate etc inside and thanked the lady. She was surprised.
Maybe make an effort and be kind people.
1 lady running the place.
Anyway, I'll be back to try something else because it was good, solid, hot, and fresh.
