Definitely my favourite restaurant during 3-day trip to Berlin! 🇬🇷
Delicious food, really fast service, perfect mini desserts, nice decorations and atmosphere! It wasn’t loud either on Saturday evening, so it was possible to relax and enjoy the food :)
We had a sharing mixed platter for 23,5pp and it was so much food! We had greek style potatoes and vegetables in tomato sauce as sides. I would make the portion of side dishes a bit bigger though. We still had a bit of space left for mini desserts 😂 They bring a whole display of desserts and you can choose the ones you like! 🥰
Orange homemade lemonade was really delicious too!
They do have quite a lot of vegetarian options too!

It’s easy to underestimate the place from the outside, but the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth, the attention to detail, and smell of quality food all around.
We had the dorada — which was excellent — and a plate of grilled meats, also great.
The owner was also very welcoming and attentive, shaking every guest’s hands, and truly making the experience feel like dining in your uncle’s home.
10/10

A WONDERFUL find! We were in town for Berlinale and stayed in a hotel nearby. Ended up having dinner here every single night, as the food, service and atmosphere were outstanding. The grilled skewers and mussaka were delicious, and so were the desserts. The owner and all the waiters were incredibly attentive and friendly - and take great pride in treating all their customers as guests. 10/10 highly recommend!

Great food and delicious desserts! Also the food was served really fast and the service was nice. I fulfilled my dream of eating the origin version of the polish dessert called „blok”, which was a comeback to my childhood memories.

The best shisha in Berlin!! Such good atmosphere and exceptional service. We got a free shisha, snacks and we got to steer the music. The owner is the sweetest man in Berlin. We had such a great time, this will definitely be our go to shisha spot. Thanks a lot for this lovely time! 100% recommend

Incredibly tasty, filling food, wonderful service. The atmosphere of the place is inviting with interesting Ethiopian art and table clothes. We lingered for teas after our meal and a woman heated aromatic herbs using a flame, then brought the herbs around to the tables to scent the air (after asking us to make sure it was ok!). The soundtrack was nice and they even turned down the music for us when we said it was a bit loud.
Would 100% recommend for a great evening out

It has been a very special experience. They treated us preciously and the food was delicious too. Recommended for who likes the Ethiopian kitchen and atmosphere!

I really like this Ethiopian restaurant as it is close to my house. For the first time I ordered a salad and was a bit disappointed as it was nothing special, could have been done better at home and for the price it is not worth it.
However, the main dish was super good. I took the mix plate with lamb curry and 3 vegetarian dishes. It was super good and really filling.

It's a true Ethiopian restaurant in Berlin! There's a good choice of different dishes, although the portions are not that big. Prices are although very low. The waiters were extraordinary nice and the location is so pretty!
Eleonora Tonino - 2 years ago
The portions are very generous and the food is tasty. No problems with the staff and they were very accommodating. Probably best to go with a friend or two to share meals together.
The location is also very good as it's close to U Hallesches Tor.

Less restaurant and more neighborhood beer hall with a limited menu. Even with a limited menu, food is very good. Schnitzel, meatballs, fried eggs and cold sandwiches. Schnitzel and meatballs (with potatoes and pickle) are very good. Staff is friendly and does a good job. Cash only!

A very cool, local place - authentic with no pretensions. This is the kind of place I love stumbling upon when I travel. Been back 3 times. Excellent schnitzel and the beer is fine.
Mnoho Spisy - 4 months ago
Came here 3 times this week, and it was amazing every time.I had the pork and beef meatballs with the potatoes on the side which were amazing, and the other days I had the pork schnitzel which was honestly my favourite dish and was super super amazing. The schnitzel and potato really complemented eachother and were both amazing.5/5 stars

I've lived in Germany on and off over the last decade and this was by far the best schnitzel I have had to date. Meatballs were also great. Partner loved the schnitzel so much he wanted to come back again for dinner the next day!

I just stopped by for a quick lunch, but my experience here was still extremely satisfying and welcoming, in all regards. Felt like home.
The service was friendly, attentive and helpful and the dish was served promptly under 15 minutes from when I arrived.
As for the food, it was lovely. Pure perfection, far exceeding my expectations. The filled peppers were the best ones I ever had in my life - tender, buttery, well seasoned, full of flavor and authentic. The potatoes were a great vessel for the sauce and the salad on the side perfectly cut through the richness of the filled peppers.
If I had to have a complaint, it would be that it may be a bit pricey for a meal people usually cook at home. The peppers and a big bottle of water were 22.80 € altogether. However, the quality definitely justifies the price and I guess that this is normal for a lunch/dinner in Berlin in 2025.
Visiting this place made my whole day and I can‘t wait to come back and try other dishes.

We were very well treated by the staff, and served an amazing food! The portion sizes are good and the venue’s decoration is beautiful. Love also that they have authentic Croatian beverages.

Had a lovely night here recently. Went along with a few friends and ordered some sides and different grilled dishes. They also provide English menus and you are able to pay on card. The staff were really friendly and provided some good recommendations on wines.

Do not be fooled by its appearance. This is quality in disguise at its finest. Had a special grill teller mix which was very good. Meats, Herbs, Rice, Fries.. all there.
Very friendly people running this place. Would def recommend if you like some Balkan foods.
This place felt a bit like a time capsule. Vintage vibes, Balkan x Germany 40 years ago.
Good experience, service was a tad slow. but everything arrived when it arrived.
Would visit again

Plenty of Berlin Kebap Shops have vegan / seitan döner these days, but most don't offer a good vegan sauce (or sauces) to go along with it, so it never feels complete. This shop has only one sauce on offer, but it's delicious and combined with the freshness of the salads and that little sprinkle of sumac and the spritz of fresh lemon, makes the vegan kebap absolutely delicious. I sometimes go out of my way to grab a bite there - especially at night. Highly recommended!

The Kebap we ate in Döner Date is the best one we tried in Germany. Neşet Bey and other people who work there are very friendly.(sorry I forgot their names) they always smile and they are very kind. We are lucky to met them :) I will definetely comemhere again if I ever visit Berlin. actually I will just come Germany to visit Döner Date again. Thabk you for your warm welcome and for the best kebap.

After a night of partying, I was super hungry, and like an oasis in the desert, this little Dönerei (does this word even exist?) appeared. Oh my god. The meat was delicious and PLENTIFUL in my Döner box. Actually I'm making myself hungry and I might go there again this evening.
Edit: I went again and got a delicious and huge dürüm!

The quality and the taste was really good. It wasn't too oily, the bread was delicious, meat and other ingredients were really good. I was very pleased. However, there is not much space to sit, so it's best for takeaway.

Cheap big tasty portions with lots of veg. Not fancy cuisine but if you’re on a budget and hungry this is the place for you. Great value and also feels light and not too greasy

I ordered the süɓ sauer ente kross (sweet& sauer crispy duck) for takeaway. Quick service, good taste, good prize, well sized portion, alu meal box keeping the dish hot and no additional plate needed at home. Beats cooking yourself all day long!

Good Asian Food, cheap but very tasty. Location is interesting and real Berlin. If the owners-wife serve or make the meal... she is a little bit rough, (mentally) but anyway you came for a good meal.
Chris Witzleben - 7 years ago
I stopped because I wanted a hot, solid meal.
Laby took my order, sat outside and she made everything FRESH.
I don't know about these negative comments but for the price, for the amount of food (plate full!), a solid hot meal....this hit the spot.
Thank goodness I stopped...it started raining like a monsoon!
I did pick up after myself and took the plate etc inside and thanked the lady. She was surprised.
Maybe make an effort and be kind people.
1 lady running the place.
Anyway, I'll be back to try something else because it was good, solid, hot, and fresh.

The prices are still rather low, but as in many restaurants of the Sahara chain ( except Neukölln!) the sandwiches are not very good. Very little sauce ( no eggplant/aubergine sauce), not well distributed (could be called individual "skill", but i see that often in Sahara restaurants) and the falafel became pretty hard and stale/ dry very fast (or probably were so to begin with). I ordered kufta to eat immediately and ate the falafel sandwich a bit later. I often keep a falafel sandwich for later and in other restaurants they stay fresh and tasty for a long time. Here not. So not really recommended, but sadly the only Sudanese falafel in the area.

Holy shit, my life has been forever changed. As a vegetarian for the past 20 years, I’ve never had a donor kebap. We stumbled on this restaurant today and knew we had to come back to try it. I ordered the vegan kebap and dear god, it’s unbelievably good. This will go on my top three best vegan meals of all time. If you’re vegan or veggie, do yourself a favor and eat here 🔥

Pleasant, nice staff and a simple menu. Good vegetarian alternatives and reasonable prices. Very clean, and nice seating indoors and outdoors. Food came pretty quick and was great. Loved the classic döner and it was great, properly spicy and balanced. The fries were good, and portion size was reasonable. Very good. Thanks and Hello.
