The best Italian restaurant in Berlin! Great place with a comforting terrace and excellent food. The quality of the food is supreme and waiters Walter and Monica gave us an amazing service and awesome recomendations. We will come back the next time we visit Berlin! Gracie mille!!

Sale e Tabacchi is a long-running Italian restaurant nestled in Mitte that exudes its own cozy charm, complete with high ceilings that add to its inviting atmosphere. Prices are high. Service are very great. Food is also good. We got our appetizer and drinks very fast. One thing I really didn’t like is that there was no music in the restaurant. At all. When we came it was empty and service was running with the tables around us and making a lot of noise in completely quiet place. Then came a lot of people and restaurant was full. But still no music at the background. Tables are very close to each others. So you can hear everyone’s talk…The interior is old fashion. So in general atmosphere was not that pleasant.

We are talking real Italian business here. I love it. Fullfilled my expectations, I was studying it for a while before making my reservation. I tried once before, it was full. Last night, with a spontaneous call a table was available. Fresh food 🐙, great cooking and very comfortable atmosphere. Grazie mille 👌🏽

I really cannot see how this place is ranked so high. While innovation in cooking is always welcome, my experience was less about culinary excellence and more about an overwhelming clash of flavors. Our visit to Tim Raue Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. With a five-course tasting menu that was nearly perfect. Maybe less precised compared to Jan Hartwig, but the experience left us thoroughly impressed. The culinary prowess was evident in the impeccable balance of flavors, expertly managed salt levels, and the display of high-quality techniques, all beautifully presented through the artful plating. Superb dining place with a delicious prix fix using local ingredients and clear asian influence. Service is too notch. Location is good, but when we arrived to our hotel our clothes smelled like food/grease. Perhaps they need a better ventilation for the kitchen. It is not easy to get a table we had to do 3 weeks in advance for a Tuesday.

Had a dinner at Restaurant Tim Raue a few weeks ago and had the Berlin-inspired menu. The food was, with the exception of the chicken fricassee, impeccable. A great way to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.

Dear Tim Raue, Where to begin with this post? I vividly remember in 2018 sitting at the television in the living room of a home in Florida coming across your episode of Chef's Table on Netflix and upon starting it, I was instantly mesmerized with your restaurant, your food and with Berlin. I appreciated and connected with your story and felt so captivated learning about the winding road it took for you to open a 2-Star Michelin restaurant. That is all it took for me have the desire to experience Restaurant Tim Raue in person. And so, a couple of Fridays ago I finally did. It was better than anything I could have imagined. I was blown away by the service received at the restaurant from start to finish, as though everyone was moving in perfect harmony while playing a complex symphony. Upon being seated, we were tended to our every need and never felt neglected. I was looking forward to the menu being served and loved that I got a card outlining every single dish being presented that evening to me. Now, if we're taking food, I am so happy that I entrusted my palette to your kitchen. Every course was so perfectly presented and upon tasting it, I was met with a spectrum of flavors that worked so harmoniously well together. If I had to pick my favorite course, it would definitely be the Wasabi Langoustine. I had wanted to try it every since I saw it on Chef's Table and it was divine. I also tasted things I hadn't ever tried before, like imperial Caviar with sprat, which blew my mind with its umami flavor and wagyu beef cheek, which was braised to perfection. I really am so grateful to have had the privilege to dine at your restaurant. It is the single most memorable food experience I have ever had in my life and I will never forget how special I felt and how immaculate the food was. Please continue inspiring everyone at your restaurant to doing amazing work so that many more people can experience the unbridled joy I felt with every moment dining at Restaurant Tim Raue. Fabulous French restaurant with a truly authentic menu, reasonably priced and fantastic service make this a must visit if you are a French food fan. We had a good mix of meat, the Le Steak option is amazing value at €21 for a small steak and fries and more than adequate quantity for our teenage daughters. Talking of French fries, these things are maybe the best fries I have had outside of France! The Steak Tartare was perfect and also very reasonably priced, and at €30 I actually thought it was a starter, but in fact, it was a main course. Only issue I had was that the Mousse Chocolate was too large and could have fed 2 people so you have been warned! Service was exemplary and way ahead of the price point on offer here as, bearing in mind it was a fully booked restaurant, you would expect the service to suffer, but it was truly exemplary. Highly recommended. We will be back!

I recently dined at this restaurant, and while the food was excellent, the service had its ups and downs. Our assigned waiter was friendly, but unfortunately, some others didn't quite meet the same standard. The steak was fantastic, and the side menu offered a variety of tasty options. The prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food. The atmosphere was pleasant, creating a nice overall experience. Despite the mixed service, I would recommend this place to everyone based on the delicious food and inviting ambiance.

Decent Entrecôte, sophisticated service, quite pricey. I've finally had the chance to try this place that had been recommended to me so many times. The Foie Gras for starter is very good, pricey, but it gets you in the French mood. The Entrecôte as well was quite good, however, nothing special for the price, and most important, the sauce was very acidic and made it the meat worse (in my opinion). The bread was just a warmed up baguette. Normal fries, normal dessert. The atmosphere at Entrecôte is particular. If you sit in the middle and in the main areas it looks quite cozy and warm, however the seats at the end of the room (near the entrance) can be quite "cold". The service is good, almost sophisticated (they get the jackets for you, they open the door for you), but all in all I wouldn't define it friendly, but rather professional and polite. The overall experience was good, however for the price I believe there are still better french Brsseries. PS. one of my friends suggested, this is a French restaurant for German people, and I kind of agree :)

I visited this restaurant for the first time in 2022, just happened to stumble upon it. It turned out to be an abs hidden gem. We got the menu de classique, after our berlin visit i haven’t been able to forget this restaurant. So this year i just had to revisit, the service was super friendly and caring, while waiting to be seated we were sat by the bar. The atmosphere can be overwhelming for some, a-bit loud but i think it also adds to the charm of the place. The location is also so underrated you would expect this place to be super expensive but for 110€ for two people (including: salad, fries, steak, dessert and wine) is quite good. Waiters are also super attentive and show their hospitality well. 10/10 would recommend!

Recently dined there - while the location is really welcoming and charming, the food doesn't measure to expectations, with especially a bad quality/price ratio. Good fries (allumettes), but poor chateaubriand. It's the kind of restaurant were you shall go for the bottle rather than the glass. Nice service, present and responsive.

Pablo was the best, the most amazing service. We came here after reading the reviews and have left feeling like we’re missing a part of ourselves. The food is amazing, and is only superseded by the service given, we wish this was in our home town and are so jealous of Berlin to have a place like this that can be visited daily.

The restaurant was lovely .. Staff were friendly We ordered for mixed grill and veal schnitzel The mixed grill with chimichuri was quite tasty but the schnitzel was not crispy on the outside and was a bit chewy. The sourdough bread with aioli was amazing .. The restaurant did not accept cards which is not very helpful for tourists like us So if you plan to visit make sure you have cash handy

Absolutely loved it. The reception is great. Service staff is very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. This place is very busy on weekends. Make sure to place reservation before hand. We ordered dry aged T bone steak and surf and turf. Surf and Turf comes in 140grams but you can ask for 250 grams fillet mignon. The steaks are cooked to perfection and taste outstanding. The chimichurri served with T bone was outstanding and compound butter elevates the meal. Desserts are not bad but nothing crazy. And coffee tasted just acceptable. Overall, this steakhouse is great for the steaks. They only accept cash and German cards as payment options. No Apple Pay or NFC.

I was positively impressed with the quality of restaurant. Menu of food and drinks has lots of options. For an Italian restaurant outside of Italy, it was quite close to the originals. The food was very tasty, and the price is very competitive for quality you get. I found the decoration with good taste. Service was fast, staff was professional without being excessively formal. It was very nice, there is music, everyone’s great and the inside is really peaceful. We took thé tagliatelle Mazancolle for the main course and the Gamberetti Peperoncino for the start (pictures attached). It was very tasty and flavoured, really recommend !

Very cozy atmosphere, delicious sushi (must try the one with shiitake and with the omelette), we caught the happy day, but it was Saturday night and it was crowded, with only 1 waitress. However, the food was prepared very fast!

For the price paid, quite decent. You get 8 nigiris and 6 makis for 12€ during the happy hour: every Wednesday and Saturday whole day, other days - before 16:00. They are functioning here since long time so the place might feel run down, but it’s fine and doesn’t impact the food. Free matcha with water for every customer. Cash only as well.

This restaurant is ok but nothing special. They kinda messed up our order and I thought it was weird putting fish and vegan sushi on one plate. It tasted alright but smelled weird for only avocado maki. Staff is fast and friendly. I would not come back tho.

the fish to rice ratio was very bad and the rice on top if that was very compactly pressed. the smoked salmon you can buy at the supermarket is thicker than what they served. i hope it was just a bad day, because they used to serve actual sushi. this was real bad.

Its a nice place, food was nice. I ordered warm Tapas: Octopus, Calamari and Sardellen. Service was not so good, they looked very tired, demotivated. We were waiting for more than an hour for our food. It took also a while to get our desserts and they forgot to bring us one. To speak German and English was also not so easy.

food was pretty good but gosh the service went downhill so fast. it was the same night as the marathon and they probably overbooked because the place was packed and we didn't get any attention outdoors. paella took longer than worth and asking 5 different people and times to pay gets to be frustrating

Service was initially good, but towards the end of the meal became quite poor. I asked for a coffee with cream three times with no luck. When I said cancel the coffee and bring the bill, the bill & the coffee arrived - but no cream. When I complained I was told they had no cream - this is a restaurant that sells cream-based desserts, so I guess they must buy those in, not make them in house. The waitress brought hot milk, which was acceptable, but it would have been better to do that at the beginning, rather that just ignore my request. Other than that the place is OK. The baby squid in particular was excellent.

I had the paella for the first time and it was amazing. The fusion of fish and meat like chicken was new to me, but it didn't disappoint! The service was so sociable and friendly. Also have to mention that the dessert ist a must eat here.

Craving “Dominican food” and visited Johnny’s Bar for dinner. The restaurant seems to be part of a hotel next door or something similar. The service was nice and the food was good. Honestly my expectations were high as a Dominican that pays 15€ (could be cheaper) for “La Bandera”, but is a good place to visit considering. The menu is mix (not only Caribbean food) and croquetas were amazing.

A cute Caribbean joint near the hotel. The place appears to be run by a family who are super welcoming. I asked the gentleman for his suggestion and he came back with a perfect soup, a great choice after a full day of walking around Berlin. I rarely find cozy and comforting places like this in touristic areas but thankfully this place wasn’t a trap at all.

Hip looking cafe that is a great option for breakfast or break time. It is nicely decorated for some selfie time as well. Staff are really friendly too. Outdoor seating is available for people watching 😛 Free wifi is available as well. However, the washroom is 50 euro cents thou.

Tuens out Germans can make really good sandwiches. Found this place right next to checkpoint Charlie, next door to McDonald’s and it’s actually cheap in a touristic area. Sandwiches are tasty and super fresh. Large place lots of seating, good place to sit downstairs or upstairs for a break as you wander through.

A big place in the very center with plenty of variety to choose for breakfast or light lunch, everything self-serviced. Cheaper than other coffee chains (Kamps, Einstein, etc ). A major shortcoming is that they won't heat any of their food, a bit incomprehensible to sell pizza or melted cheese without cold. They offer wlan and vegan options.

Excellent things we loved here: 1. The price is very affordable 2. Portion are satisfying 3. Food was tasty 4. Food wasn't oily & was light. 5. I highly recommend the huge 2 persons plate. I think its the best. 7. The mint tea was excellent as well. 8. They are polite & welcoming. 9. Food was served quickly 10. The presentation of Food was excellent We ate there twice. Things we found average: 1. Their bourak. 2. Chicken with parsley Things we didn't like: nothing :D Recommendation to the owner: Whether it's Syrian/ Lebanese or Jordanian food... A friend recommended this place to me and it didn’t disappoint. Decent menu with nice prices, I opted for the chicken shawarma plate and it was delicious. The hummus, potatoes, vegetables, and bread worked in perfect harmony. The service was fast and friendly. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area or check out their other location.
