5 Star Rating Visited twice in the past week—once for a business dinner and once with a co-worker. We sat both indoors and outdoors, and the service was excellent on both occasions. We actually returned specifically for the nachos and shrimp appetizer—they were that good. Convenient central location makes it an easy choice.

4 Star Rating I visited this place with my mother and a friend and though they were vegetarians...we found something to have. The server was very very helpful with us wanting only vegetarian options and even though his English was broken he helped us out. We had a good time here...visiting the shop as well and ended up having some chilled beer and loads of fun.

5 Star Rating Great food and service! Everything tasted fresh and was hot! I had the chicken fajitas and they were delicious! The waiter (from Poland) kept checking on us constantly and was very nice! He even asked if we had any food allergies. The place is small & looks more like a diner but was cute!

5 Star Rating A wonderful, traditional Austrian restaurant in Berlin, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and fantastic service. The Wiener Schnitzel is spot-on—light, crisp, and puffed up perfectly—exactly how it should be. The Apfelstrudel is also excellent, with a flaky pastry and just the right level of sweetness. If you’re after classic Austrian food done well, Ottenthal is a great choice. The team really knows their craft, and the service makes the whole experience feel extra special.

5 Star Rating I really enjoyed this place, the atmosphere is really nice and the staff were very kind and helpful and spoke English. I think this would make a very cute date spot. I love that they make an effort to avoid using plastics and aluminum in their kitchen (mentioned in menu). The food was delicious and you could tell they used high quality ingredients. The portions were generous, as an American, I was stuffed! The cost was very reasonable and they take cards. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in Berlin.

5 Star Rating It was the best Wiener Schnitzel I’ve ever had. My German husband is still talking about how it was the best :) It’s probably the best Schnitzel you can find in Berlin. I also loved that you could choose between a small and regular size, for me small size was enough. The potato salad served on the side was perfect as well. The other dishes looked great—we had a pancake dessert with homemade jam. It was quite sweet, but the buttery taste perfectly filled the remaining space in our stomachs.

5 Star Rating Excellent Austrian restaurant. Very nice atmosphere and service from the staff. Spotlessly clean place. The schnitzel was really amazing and that was the reason we went. Everything we ate was very tasty and well prepared. The variety of ice creams at the end also very tasty. The cost is relatively high but it is proportional to the quality.

5 Star Rating Ottenthal was a wonderful dining experience for our whole family. The food was absolutely excellent — Austrian family members commented it was the best schnitzel outside Austria :). The Tafelspitz was tender and delicious, and the palatschinken were tops. The service was so warm and attentive — this was top notch and I’d love to return when next in Berlin.

5 Star Rating A quick lunch with work colleagues and my first visit. On arrival the first impression is a friendly, comfortable, nicely appointed, relaxed and non pretentious. All staff were super friendly and helpful adding to the experience. The business lunch had a small but diverse selection of options and I cannot fault anything and neither could my two colleagues. Fantastic across the board. Will be back on my next trip. Thank you.

5 Star Rating Stopped for drinks and oysters for Bday lunch. Worth it, good variety and selection oysters to choose from (size/salt). Chucked to order, good wine pairings and oyster accompaniments that are more BERLIN local as opposed to North American style wine vinegar and Tabasco.

5 Star Rating I recently had the pleasure of dining at Diekmann, and it was an experience to remember. This restaurant offers a signature cuisine that truly stands out, with each dish crafted to perfection. The menu is small, but it works in their favor, ensuring that every option is of the highest quality. Each dish was delicious, leaving me eager to try everything on future visits. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the overall welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a foodie or just looking for a great meal, Diekmann is definitely worth a visit

5 Star Rating İt's not easy to find food and service worth the price in this city. But Diekmann is a big exception. İt's the first time here, having lived close by for the last three years but it won't be the last. The food was exceptional. Everything was well seasoned and presented. The service was also great. Something else I also value that they did is that there was a pleasant amount of time between courses. Nothing was rushed. We have tried: oysters, ravioli, Lupe de Mare and the pulpo. Plus the white asparagus. Very happy. No complaints.

3 Star Rating The price-to-portion ratio wasn’t the best—too pricey for what we got. I brought my friend, who was visiting, to try German food after our first choice was fully booked and required a reservation. The food was okay; my friend had the bratwurst, and I had the Königsberger Klopse. The portions could have been better, and while the taste was decent, it wasn’t particularly memorable.

5 Star Rating Beautiful German atmosphere with excellent and kind service. The food was great, the portions were big, totally worth it for the price which is just slightly a bit on the higher end. They often give things "on the house" and agreed on making smaller portions on demand or pack the remaining food for a takeaway. Beer was excellent too. Highly recommend having a lunch there, as it may be full in the evening.

The Pad Thai Noodles were also really good. The staff were efficient but not full of smiles and would not let us spend less than a €10 euro on card. 4 Star Rating Good food, fair prices. I’m a big fan of spicy food, and I think I finally found my match! Usually when I ask for spicy, I get medium, but here I got the Tom Yam soup so hot that I could barely finish it (and I even do challenges sometime!) The only 2 reasons I gave 4 stars is that the service tends to be on the slow side and I wish they had some more authentic Thai beverages. Otherwise, very nice.

3 Star Rating We stopped by the restaurant before heading to the rooftop. The interior design is incredible, which got us excited, hoping that the food would match the decor. We opted to sit outside, but the first disappointment was the cheap metal chairs with barely any cushion—30 minutes in, I wanted to leave. My cod arrived, along with a side of rice. The marinated salad was quite unpleasant, and the rice had an odd taste, like plain rice cooked in a dirty pot. The fish itself was just okay. For €45, I expected much better. My girlfriend's crunchy avocado salad, on the other hand, was pretty good. The service was very poor: dirty knives were not replaced, plates were not changed, service was slow, and the overall experience felt far from high class. Next, we had a reservation upstairs in the lounge. When we reserved, we were informed that the minimum spend was €120, which we figured was nothing between six people. However, after an hour and a couple of drinks, around 11 pm on a Thursday night, we wanted to go home, only to be told that the minimum spend was €120 per person, not per table. This felt like a scam, so be cautious about the lounge. Out of the four high-class places I visited in Berlin, this was by far the worst. Very disappointed, we ended up spending €150 in the restaurant and another €100 for just two drinks in the lounge due to the misleading €120 minimum.
