We visited Berlin for 3 nights in January (group of 4) and we went to this restaurant twice ! The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. I would highly recommended. The moussaka was divine and the atmosphere was brilliant! It was really busy on the two nights we attended. I would advise to book before going :)

Another amazing experience at Taverna Athene! Last time, we tried the chef’s special, which was a mixed grill with lamb chops, lamb skewer, and another cut—all incredibly delicious! The sides were just as good, especially the crispy potatoes and the creamy tzatziki. We also had moussaka and a fresh salad with balsamic-mustard dressing, both fantastic. This time, we ordered Dolmadakia (Grape leaves with rice filling and homemade tzatziki),Arnisio souvlaki (a large tender lamb skewer, in our own marinade, served with fried handmade style garlic potatoes and Tzatziki) and Gyros (Pork from the rotisserie, with Tzatziki) with Greek-style potatoes. Everything was great again! The kebab (lamb skewer) last time had smaller, more tender pieces that melted in the mouth, while this time the cuts were bigger but still juicy and flavorful. They also serve a welcome shot of Ouzo Plomari, which is a nice touch. Even their house wine is pretty good! Definitely coming back!

Absolutely delicious. I had the mixed grill plate and my partner had the vegetarian moussaka. We also had a pita with garlic confit as a starter, also delicious. The first room is quite noisy, so don’t hesitate to request to sit in a different room, if you enjoy a quieter atmosphere.

The food was delicious, the wait staff loves to laugh. The octopus was life changing. They were very friendly even though we spoke zero German.

Great food and big portions! Recommended for vegans as they have a whole menu dedicated for both starters and main dishes, we’ve also been kindly offered some ouzo once seated. They also gave us some water for our dog 🐕 Overall a very good experience, I’d like to go back if I have the chance.

Crunchy toasted bread with a salt and pepper taste, fresh & crispy salad with a lot of flavour and delicious döner. Staff very friendly and accommodating even if your German isn't up to scratch. Highly recommend trying this place out!

We chose to meet up with Sandy B the South African Kwaito musician at the Döner 49. Easy to find when you are new in the city as it's right at the upper level of the underground station. Great service, fast and fresh ingredients with super friendly staff

I have just visited the grand bistro today for the first time during the office lunch break. Perfect place for having lunch in the area! Way better and cheaper than the other places close by. I will definitely go there often, since I got a great chili con carne and and an excellent service.

Decent value of money for all you can eat breakfast , the concept is not new but food are decent and nice. You might pay less for a breakfast else where but if you come with a mindset of brunch, the value is great.

The place to be for breakfast and lunch! This cozy place with plenty of variety for breakfast as well as lunch with daily fresh and homemade dishes is awesome and highly recommended. The lovely host which makes you feel very comfy, the friendly service and the reasonable price make this place the best value for money around…

This restaurant easily ranks among my top 10 dining experiences. The restaurant's design is thoughtfully executed, with an open kitchen that adds energy to the space. Absolutely stunning location! I went there for my birthday and cannot say one bad thing about this place. They have a beautiful bar in a sophisticated and stylish setting, with a great selection of high quality drinks. Right away, the attentive and observing staff, welcomed me and my guest with a free drink on the house. Super sweet! After the bar, we went to the restaurant area. The interior design from the restaurant is really neat. The open kitchen, the smell of the amazing food, the charming design, the charismatic waiters... all combined creates a laid-back atmosphere and a unique vibe, that turns a visit there into an experience, you don't want to miss! The food is out of this world delicious and I can't wait to come back and try some more! Highly recommend checking this one out, you will not regret it. Thank you for this great evening!!!
