From the amazing food to the super friendly staff, this Greek restaurant impressed us.
I haven't had such delicious food in a long time.
The staff was very friendly and funny. Our friend from the company spoke Greek and it was a lot of fun. Thanks for the great food and stay.
I would visit Berlin again just for this restaurant.

I had high expectations based on the great reviews, but my experience at Taverna Athene was disappointing.
Despite having a reservation, I received little attention and had to wait quite a while. The table offered was not great, and overall the service felt disorganized.
The dish I had was okay, but definitely not exceptional—nothing that would justify the wait or make the visit memorable.
Maybe it was just an off night, but I expected more from a place with such high ratings.

We visited Berlin for 3 nights in January (group of 4) and we went to this restaurant twice ! The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. I would highly recommended. The moussaka was divine and the atmosphere was brilliant! It was really busy on the two nights we attended. I would advise to book before going :)

A very nice restaurant.
We where thinking why we would not give 5 stars, but we could not come up with anything. The food was very good and warm. Also enough, since i could not finish the whole plate ( Athene menu).

Great food and big portions! Recommended for vegans as they have a whole menu dedicated for both starters and main dishes, we’ve also been kindly offered some ouzo once seated. They also gave us some water for our dog 🐕 Overall a very good experience, I’d like to go back if I have the chance.

Crunchy toasted bread with a salt and pepper taste, fresh & crispy salad with a lot of flavour and delicious döner. Staff very friendly and accommodating even if your German isn't up to scratch. Highly recommend trying this place out!

We chose to meet up with Sandy B the South African Kwaito musician at the Döner 49. Easy to find when you are new in the city as it's right at the upper level of the underground station. Great service, fast and fresh ingredients with super friendly staff

Visited the Technik museum and then went to the cafe (from the inside of the museum). Ordered an apple pie and vegetarian Pfannkuchen. The cafe was full and the service was average (at the order desk the lady was a little impolite), however a waiter called our number and came to our table with the Pfannkuchen which was appreciated. It was delicious, fresh and refreshing. Definitely something I’d like to have again.
The apple pie was also delicious with fresh apples and in large amounts.
The only disturbing thing was the children in the cafe who were so noisy and made the experience unpleasant (not the cafe’s fault though). Definitely visit when in the museum!

Absolutely lovely service, and a great selection of food! The scrambled eggs especially were surprisingly good, and I both saw and heard the cooks cracking the eggs every morning!
Only reason I'm retracting a star is because of the few fruit flies surrounding the area around the honey/marmelades, which also flew around me while eating.
Otherwise clean eating area, wonderful beetroot, carrot and couscous salads, though the olives tasted a bit off.
(Prepaid when booking my stay at the "Grand Hostel Berlin Classic")

I have just visited the grand bistro today for the first time during the office lunch break. Perfect place for having lunch in the area! Way better and cheaper than the other places close by. I will definitely go there often, since I got a great chili con carne and and an excellent service.

Decent value of money for all you can eat breakfast , the concept is not new but food are decent and nice. You might pay less for a breakfast else where but if you come with a mindset of brunch, the value is great.

The place to be for breakfast and lunch! This cozy place with plenty of variety for breakfast as well as lunch with daily fresh and homemade dishes is awesome and highly recommended. The lovely host which makes you feel very comfy, the friendly service and the reasonable price make this place the best value for money around…

Excellent food and attentive service. Originality of Middle Eastern dishes. Exceptional choice of cocktails. The place is pleasant and airy. With a nice perspective on the open kitchen. Highly recommended!

This restaurant easily ranks among my top 10 dining experiences.
The restaurant's design is thoughtfully executed, with an open kitchen that adds energy to the space. The menu offers both excellent meat dishes and creative vegetarian options, all prepared with notably fresh ingredients and creative spices while not being overspiced at all. The professional staff strikes the right balance between being attentive, extremely forthcoming and friendly and unobtrusive.
Each dish we tried was exceptional, demonstrating both technical skill and creative flair in the kitchen. The overall experience – from the ambiance to the food quality – makes this venue stand out in a crowded restaurant scene.
Highly recommended for those seeking a memorable dining experience that delivers on all fronts that is still pretty affordable for what you get.

A very nice option if you want to have modernized Middle Eastern food (Israeli / Lebanese / Persian), fancily presented and somewhat expensive and served rather informally in a modern room. It’s modern Israel dining for you really. The only caveat is if you already know the chefs food in which case you have to be ready that most of the dishes have been around for a long time.
Chef Meir Adoni has always been a master of making simple food look properly nice and upgrading it to fancy, somewhat sweet and spicy versions. His Kubaneh with paprika, tomato and zhugh has always been great and the smoked eggplant carpaccio a hit for at least a decade now. The Israeli ceviche adds middle eastern warmth and sweetness to the usual taste. The quatayef is a more serious and homey stuffed pancake affair. The mains are beautifully executed no matter whether it’s cauliflower, fish, or lamb, I prefer the cauliflower personally and generally there’s less surprises here and more of great execution. The deserts are inventive and not too heavy, just the way I like them.
I guess my only criticism given how many of chef Adonis restaurants have served very similar dishes in several countries all over, I would much rather have him keep his Tel Aviv restaurant open and make it into an institution.

Absolutely stunning location! I went there for my birthday and cannot say one bad thing about this place. They have a beautiful bar in a sophisticated and stylish setting, with a great selection of high quality drinks. Right away, the attentive and observing staff, welcomed me and my guest with a free drink on the house. Super sweet! After the bar, we went to the restaurant area. The interior design from the restaurant is really neat. The open kitchen, the smell of the amazing food, the charming design, the charismatic waiters... all combined creates a laid-back atmosphere and a unique vibe, that turns a visit there into an experience, you don't want to miss! The food is out of this world delicious and I can't wait to come back and try some more! Highly recommend checking this one out, you will not regret it. Thank you for this great evening!!!
