The steaks here are truly almost the best in Berlin. At least my Top 2. 🥩 In terms of the cuts, you can't go wrong: the NY Strip, T-Bone, and American Porterhouse were all fantastic. 🍷 A special shoutout to the sommelier (the lady with the bob haircut)! Her recommendations are spot on and she has never let us down. What I appreciate most is that she suggests wines based on taste, not just expensive bottle on the list. 🥗 The Kopfsalat (Butterhead Lettuce) is a must-order every time. One portion is huge-plenty for two people to split, and honestly enough for three. 🍟If you’re a fan of carbs, their bread is solid, and the sweet potato fries are absolutely delicious. 🧆The Beef Tartare is superb! highly recommended! The portion is quite generous, so 2 people can easily share it as a starter. 🤑Price:100 -120€ per person (including drinks).

Had been wanting to go to this place for a while and finally made the time. It was a bizarre experience, first of all, service is great, no complains there. Food was fine, I was expecting amazing or enebro great, but it was just fine, does not justify the price for me. The aubergine ‘meatballs’ were quite good, the t-bone was ok, the sides (potatoe gratin and Broccoli) were disappointing, and desert ok. What was most off putting was the atmosphere, it’s supposed to be classy place, but they have neon signs as deco.

Grill Royal is one of those restaurants where the entire evening becomes part of the experience. Hidden beneath Friedrichstraße and directly overlooking the Spree, it has the atmosphere of a place that has seen countless memorable Berlin nights: low lighting, contemporary art, tightly packed tables, a glamorous crowd and that unmistakable feeling that something is always happening around you. Calling it simply a steakhouse would be reductive. Meat is undoubtedly at the centre of the menu, with an impressive selection of premium cuts, but the seafood offering is equally important. Oysters, raw fish, lobster, whole fish and other seafood dishes bring freshness and balance to what could otherwise become a very heavy meal. The best way to approach Grill Royal is to share: start with something raw or saline, move into a great steak or fish from the grill, add classic sides, and let the dinner develop slowly over a good bottle of wine. What I particularly liked is the confidence of the cooking. There is no need for excessive complication or conceptual storytelling. When the ingredients are this good, the kitchen allows them to speak for themselves. A beautiful piece of beef, properly cooked, does not need twenty components around it. The same applies to the fish and seafood. It feels luxurious, but in a very direct and pleasurable way. The wine programme is another major part of the experience. This is clearly a restaurant designed for long dinners rather than quick meals. As the evening progresses, the room becomes louder and more animated, bottles accumulate on the tables and the atmosphere shifts almost naturally from restaurant to something approaching a private club. The setting makes a huge difference. Sitting alongside the Spree, with the dark river and reflections outside while the dining room remains warm and energetic inside, creates an almost cinematic contrast. The contemporary art throughout the restaurant also prevents the space from feeling like a conventional luxury steakhouse. It is elegant, but still has the slightly unconventional edge that makes Berlin interesting. Service fits the concept well: confident, efficient and knowledgeable without unnecessary ceremony. Grill Royal is not trying to recreate formal fine dining. The priority is maintaining the rhythm and energy of a busy room while still delivering a polished experience. It is expensive, particularly once you move into premium cuts, seafood and serious wine, but Grill Royal is not really about conventional value for money. You are paying for excellent ingredients, the setting, the atmosphere and one of Berlin’s most distinctive nights out. There are restaurants I would choose for quieter, more intricate gastronomy. Grill Royal is where I would go when I want Berlin to feel exciting. Come slightly dressed up, start with oysters or raw fish, order a serious steak or a beautiful piece of fish, take your time over the wine and stay longer than planned. In conclusion, it is one of Berlin’s defining restaurants: glamorous without becoming conventional, luxurious without losing its edge, and memorable not only for what is on the plate but for the entire atmosphere surrounding it.

Meat was excellent as expected but terrible service: they allow you a table for 2 hours, take orders and dishes back very late, then bring you the bill and ask you to leave. We couldn't order and dessert or finish our wine. Inacceptable

Family were in town and wanted to treat them to some good steak. I definitely found the steaks and overall menu very good as we ordered a bit of everything. We created our own surf and turf with a selection of steak and seafood mains. Can recommend the fennel and tatare as starters. The star of the show was the entrecôte. Service was pleasant and welcoming despite last minute reservations. Setting is one of the better environments in town with a view of the spree:river. Quite lively once the evening rush hits however our table structure are a bit odd and very rectangular booth style, not very comfortable. All in all recommend this spot for steaks

I recently ate here and had a really pleasant experience overall. The garlic bread was excellent — full of flavor, perfectly toasted, and clearly made with good quality ingredients. I also really enjoyed the starter with the three sauces; it was a great way to begin the meal, and one of the sauces in particular stood out as absolutely delicious. We stopped in for a quick lunch and it turned out to be a great choice. The business lunch menu is a great deal, but what stood out was the quality. I went with the Goan Lamb Masala and it was excellent. Rich, slightly spicy, and full of depth without being heavy. The lamb was tender, and the sauce had that “slow-cooked feel” to it being balanced, not rushed. Paired with the rice and fresh naan, (especially the garlic naan) it came together really well. The interior is beautiful, well decorated, clean and the atmosphere felt so relaxed and comfortable for a midday stop. Overall, a very solid lunch spot. Would absolutely come back and work through more of the menu. Highly recommended.

Great restaurant! We ordered a few starters and main dishes and everything was delicious. The sauces were especially amazing and packed with flavor. The cocktails were great too, and the dessert with ice cream was the perfect ending. Definitely recommend!

Very big space and the ambience was really nice as we went on for the opening match of Germany at 2026 World Cup. The food was really tasty and the portion sizes were very big too. I think they were comparable to the US and just like US they also give rice along with a curry which was a nice surprise. We ordered Vindaloo paneer (paneer butter masala would have been a better choice) and dal makhni and loved the food. Would revisit again.

🤩Loved the lunch here! 🇮🇳✨ perfect ambience + ordered naan, butter chicken, paneer jalfrezi, mango lassi, and a ginger mint drink — everything was flavorful and really satisfying. butter chicken 🍗 was rich, creamy, and comforting - perfect balance of tomato, spices, and smooth sauce. The naan was soft and great for scooping up every bit of curry. 🤤 The paneer jalfrezi was also delicious — colorful, nicely spiced, and packed with flavor. I really enjoyed the mix of paneer and vegetables; it felt hearty but not too heavy. 👏 In drinks, the mango lassi was creamy, sweet, and refreshing, while the ginger mint drink was light, cooling, and perfect with the spices. 🌿🥭 Overall, a very enjoyable Indian meal in Berlin Mitte. Great food, warm flavors, and a nice place to visit when you’re craving Indian comfort food. Would definitely come back!

Lucky Star is a must-visit in Berlin! The dim sum are fresh and perfectly steamed, and the all-you-can-eat hot pot (€22.80 per person) is outstanding—tender meats, crisp veggies, and rich broths full of flavour. The staff are fantastic, the service is fabulous, and the value is unbeatable. Sadly we were only visiting, but if you’re staying central it’s absolutely worth it. We’ll be back next time we’re in Berlin.

My partner and I were riding around the city on rentable e-scooters, just having fun and taking in the sights, when we happened to stop right in front of the restaurant and spontaneously decided to eat there. We were given such a warm welcome. After spending quite a while trying to decide what to order, we chose to try the hot pot — our first time ever having something like that. Once we ordered, our waitress was incredibly kind and took the time to explain everything to us: how the hot pot worked, what ingredients she’d recommend based on our preferences, and how to properly cook and enjoy everything. Everything tasted absolutely amazing. We honestly can’t remember the last meal that kept us this full for more than four hours afterward, while still feeling great the entire time. We’ll definitely be coming back for the hot pot again. We appreciated our waitress so much for taking such good care of us that we just had to leave her a tip.

I was recommended this place by a local. It did not disappoint. Had the spiciest chilli I’ve had in Germany which was great cos I was missing it. I was told to request for the delicious hot chocolate which you have to specially ask for. It was velvety and rich. Perfect way to end the meal. 🌟

I was here on a couple of occasions. I tried the cous cous, the falafel and the fried eggplants. Food was fresh and tasty, although a little oily. Service is fast and the staff is very kind. Reasonably priced compared to most places in the area.

We were sweating in 30 degrees and the sun was baking on our fur. And as much as I like the kebab, there is no room in my stomach for meat in this heat. When I took the first bite of this sandwich with my shaky teeth, I immediately knew that it was a good decision and definitely not a mistake. Fresh ingredients and a little cheese as a meat substitute. Some part of the food should have lived in some form... the whole thing was prepared with joy, all good, thank you!

A very small and humble looking restaurant famous for its falafel. They had only outdoor seating at the moment. We were little late for lunch so were lucky to get a sitting place without wait. The service was quick and our wraps were ready very fast. However, the pitta falafel wrap were extremely tasty and full filling. They have very limited dishes, mostly vegetarian on menu. A must try restaurant for falafel in Berlin.

What made the experience even more special was how accommodating the team was in allowing us to bring our little dog. Absolutely amazing experience. I was super sick that day but couldn’t cancel on time, I’m glad I didn’t. Even tho I wasn’t at my 100% the flavours in every dish were amazing!! Technically perfect, not much they can improve tbh. All the temperatures, textures, techniques were executed perfectly. Service super friendly and attentive, timing between every dish was long enough to enjoy the company and the place but not to long. It took us 4 hours to go through the tasting menu, but time flew! Nice detail with the soap, every time I use it and smell it, reminds me the restaurant. Amazing experience! Thank you!

It was a beautiful and very interesting gastronomic experience with sophisticated dishes and truly attentive, professional service. The trout dish was definitely the highlight for me absolutely incredible, although it tasted quite similar to the rabbit course, so there wasn’t much contrast between the two. I also really enjoyed the sand carrot, the dessert, and the wine selection, which was thoughtfully curated and paired very well with the menu. On the other hand, the oyster course was a disappointment for me, and the presentation with the plastic decoration didn’t feel like the best choice either it came across a bit distracting considering the otherwise elegant concept of the entire experience. The lamb course also didn’t really stand out and felt like the weakest dish compared to the rest of the menu. Overall, it was definitely an interesting fine dining experience worth trying for the atmosphere and excellent service, but personally, I probably wouldn’t return for a second visit.

Dining at Rutz was, without question, an experience that demonstrates remarkable technical skill, creativity and precision. The restaurant has created an elegant and refined atmosphere, with a sophisticated dining room that immediately conveys why it has earned its Michelin recognition. The service team is attentive, professional and passionate. However, there were aspects of the experience that prevented it reaching the exceptional standard I anticipated. Throughout the evening there was a large number of staff involved in serving each course. While each server was courteous and knowledgeable, the constant rotation of servers made the experience feel fragmented. Different people would arrive to present, serve, clear or explain dishes, which at times became confusing rather than seamless. Fine dining should feel effortless and cohesive, but on this occasion the service felt over choreographed. The cuisine is unquestionably imaginative and technically accomplished. Every plate resembled a carefully curated work of art, with meticulous presentation and evident attention to detail. However, there were several courses where the pursuit of artistic expression outweighed the enjoyment of the food itself. While visually captivating, dishes lacked depth of flavour and came across as restrained. Delicacy is one thing, but there were moments where subtlety crossed into blandness, leaving me wishing for more balance between visual creativity and taste. I found the storytelling surrounding the dishes somewhat underdeveloped. Modern Michelin dining often succeeds because each course tells a story, whether about regional heritage, the chef’s philosophy, local producers or the inspiration behind the composition. At Rutz, many of the presentations felt limited to a straightforward description of the ingredients, essentially explaining what was on the plate rather than why it mattered. I had hoped to gain a greater appreciation of the history, cultural significance or creative journey behind each course. A richer narrative would have transformed the meal from an impressive technical display into a more emotionally engaging experience. The wine pairing was another element that left mixed impressions. It began exceptionally well, with the opening selections complementing the early courses beautifully. The progression felt thoughtful, balanced and enhanced both the food and the wines themselves. Midway through the menu, however, the pairing lost direction. Some wines felt disconnected from the dishes, making the overall progression less coherent. Fortunately, the final stages of the pairing regained their focus, concluding with some excellent selections that restored confidence in the overall concept and provided a memorable finish to the evening. Overall, Rutz undoubtedly deserves recognition for its innovation, technical execution and ambition. It offers an experience that many diners will admire, particularly those who appreciate culinary experimentation and artistic presentation. For me, however, the evening highlighted that exceptional fine dining is about more than technical perfection. The most memorable restaurants create harmony between flavour, storytelling, service and atmosphere. While Rutz excels in creativity and craftsmanship, I left feeling that greater emphasis on flavour, more cohesive service and richer narratives behind each course would elevate the experience from impressive to truly unforgettable. I would also encourage the restaurant to provide greater clarity during the reservation process regarding the €600 payment. It was not immediately apparent that this amount functions as a booking fee rather than being credited towards the final account. Clearer communication at the outset would help manage guests’ expectations. With a total expenditure of €1,544 for the evening, I anticipated an experience that was exceptional in every respect. Unfortunately, I left still feeling hungry and, despite recognising the considerable technical skill and creativity involved, ultimately underwhelmed and disappointed.

Rutz, Berlin, Germany. The only 3 Michelin star restaurant in Berlin. Rutz builds its identity around commitment to local sourcing and seasonality, avoiding the typical luxury ingredients that dominate high-end restaurants. The meal is long, 3 hours. The approach leans toward creativity which can make the experience feel overly experimental. Whether that works for you depends on what you expect from a three-star restaurant. We had a wonderful dining experience at this Mediterranean restaurant and would gladly return again. From the moment we entered, the atmosphere immediately stood out. The dining room is dark, cosy, and very elegant, creating a warm and intimate setting that feels perfect for both a relaxed evening and a special occasion. The lighting, music, and overall interior design all come together beautifully and give the restaurant a sophisticated but comfortable vibe. Made a last minute reservation on July 10 around 9:15 PM. Was a little late but that was no problem. The inside of this place was amazing, they led us out back and they have a beautiful porch. The server was great, friendly, and accommodating. Ordered the Pornstar Martini which was great and the The Perfect Storm cocktails along with a dozen of the "queen of the sea" oysters which were fantastic. Husband ordered The High Priest and I got the Son of a Gun with salmon which was also great. Husband ordered the mango cheesecake, which he said "wasn't the best cheesecake he's ever had" (and he LOVES cheesecake) and I got the tipsy cream puffs which were amazing. Highly recommend this place if you're okay with spending a bit more, this was definitely on the higher end price-wise but was our "splurge meal". Highly recommend.

A really nice food and service experience in Berlin! ➕ The vibe was really chill and comfortable. ➕ The service was on top, and we had a really tall and kind waitress! ➕The food was super good and just about right portions. ➕ The prices matched the service and food we got. ➖ Really nothing to complain about, but if I have to say one thing it is that my plate (the seetrough) moved quite a bit when cutting my food. Other than that nothing bad to say! We would definitley come back another time!

The food is good not the best. The waiter is so kind. They have vegan food which is our favorite. The decoration and the atmosphere was really beautiful. But they are thieves! They charged us 9 euros for water that is from the Tap, not even a bottle! In all restaurants we were at, we always never paid for water that is from tap! Never. This is the first restaurant that charge this much for it! Never coming back here again.

Today we visited one of the best Indian restaurants in Berlin, and it was an amazing experience from beginning to end. The owners and staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely warm-hearted. They made us feel at home the entire evening. The food was absolutely delicious, and the balance of spices was perfect in every dish. The fluffy bread and the cheesy garlic naan were unforgettable. We especially loved the Butter Chicken, Lamb Tandoori, curried chicken, and chicken in tomato sauce. Even the fresh lettuce salad served on the side was incredibly tasty. The mango lassis that accompanied our meal were fantastic — they perfectly captured the exotic flavor of mango while maintaining just the right sweetness to complement the food beautifully. You should also definitely try the chai, ice cream, and enjoy the soufflés while they’re still warm, diving right into the melted chocolate center! My family, friends, and I were all extremely satisfied. The restaurant itself was elegant, spotless, and very stylish. Whether you sit outside under the trees on a summer evening or enjoy the cozy atmosphere inside, you’ll have a wonderful experience. If you want both your eyes and your stomach to feast, you will never regret coming here. Generous portions full of flavor are waiting for you. The location is also very central, and after dinner you can continue your evening with a lovely walk by the river. Highly recommended! :)))

Food was just ok. I expected more flavor and spice. Had the lunch special with the vegetarian option, which came with lentil soup. Also ordered the mango drink and didn’t like it since I’ve had much better. Not bad for the price but I won’t be returning.

Food was okay. Not AS close to having authentic Indian taste and spiciness as it claimed. Paneer Jhalfrezi was way sweeter than it was supposed to be, while the chicken pakora was too dry. The menu could have a better spread as well. The staff was very polite and I might go back just for the ambience there.

I was a little disappointed with this as it had quite the high reviews. The food was average and didn't really have much flavor. The soup was a little too watery for my taste and needed salt, the bread was very dense. The Spätzle was very salty and was filled with onions - fried and spring onions and chives. It was really hard to finish cause the onions were overpowering everything else. Bratwurst was also underwhelming, could've used a little more flavor and little less water. Service was fine, nothing special. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. You can pay by card. Overall, okay experience but will probably not be back.

Curry wurst here is terrible, probably enough to put you off it all together. The food came out far too quickly for a start. You could tell everything was made from frozen and not fresh, the sausages were disgusting, and the texture was like eating a wet sponge. The curry definitely wasn't curry, nor did it taste anything like curry, and the chips/fries were from frozen too. Definitely not a great first curry wurst experience. The only good thing about this place is the waiting staff and the service you get from them, our waiter was very kind and took his time with us. I didn't complain about the food there as the waiter was lovely. However my friend got another food item goulash and said it was good.

Every time we visit Berlin, we find ourselves returning to Boulevard Friedrichstrasse—again and again! For us, it’s one of the best places in the city to enjoy typical Berlin and German dishes. Pho Noodlebar in Berlin is a place I keep coming back to, and it has consistently left me with a very positive impression. We stopped by for dinner and had a great experience. We ordered a bowl of pho, a grilled chicken bao bun, and glass noodles with crispy chicken. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The pho had a rich, comforting broth, while the crispy chicken was perfectly cooked and paired nicely with the glass noodles. The grilled chicken bao bun was also a standout—soft, tasty, and full of flavor. The service was excellent. OMGGGGG!!! It was sooo good. We reserved a table on the website, so it was very easy. We arrived on time but the table needed 5 more minutes to be ready. We were fine with the wait, the server who was incredibly polite, attentive and cool served us some hot tea during our wait. The atmosphere is cozy even if it’s a little cramped inside. The food was good and authentic-feeling. Portion sizes were nice and we enjoyed the cocktails. They had two deserts, my boyfriend loooved the mango one, but I really enjoyed the sticky rice. Overall there is something for everyone. Again I’d like to sing the praises for the service staff. They were absolutely incredible. We would definitely come back next time we’re in Berlin.

We visited this restaurant after our original plan changed unexpectedly. I have visited many similar Asian restaurants before, so I already had some expectations regarding both the food and the overall experience. We ordered vegetarian fried rolls as a starter, duck speciality as the main dish and drinks. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean and the service was smooth throughout the visit. The food was good, but for the final fifth star I was missing a bit more flavour and overall value considering the price. During our stay in Berlin, we visited another restaurant in Charlottenburg where we enjoyed several dishes even more for a very similar price. I do not mind paying more in busy tourist areas, but when the prices are higher, I usually expect something a little more memorable or unique. Overall still a pleasant experience and worth visiting.

Great spot for a light Chicken Pho (€14). The broth is very refreshing and won't leave you feeling sluggish. Big plus: unlike other places nearby (looking at you, Cô Chu), they finally removed the €20 card minimum. Super convenient and highly recommended for 2026!
