Best Schnitzel I've ever ate! Also not so cheap, but small portion is definitely enough for someone who is not eating a lot.
Update 2025: Schnitzel quality went way down and price way up. Pity

If you’re in Charlottenburg, Berlin and looking for a good restaurant, specially Austrian, somewhat romantic with nice seating outside, this is it. Probably the best Schnitzel in Berlin!
Since my last review I have been back a few times and it has been excellent every time! The Tafelspitz and the Apfelstrudel are among the best in Berlin!

If you’re looking for the kind of place where the schnitzel is king look no further. This spot is a hidden gem – no frills, no fuss, just hearty, delicious food served with a smile.
The schnitzel? Golden, crispy, and cooked to perfection – clearly the star of the show and made with love.
It’s family-style in the best way – welcoming, attentive without hovering, and genuinely kind.
Great value. You get generous portions at fair prices, proving that good food doesn’t need to be fancy or overpriced to be memorable.

The duck was excellent. You can share it, which is only says on the german menu. The beers were amazing, 3 vegetarian options including one vegan one. Deserts were not bad

Engelbecken is truly one of the finest restaurants in Berlin, renowned for its exquisite cuisine, authentic recipes, and exceptional service. From start to finish, the experience was simply outstanding. Their curated wine selection and perfectly paired dishes — especially the schnitzel — are absolutely delicious.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting Berlin!

Waited 45 minutes and 4 waiters to ask IF we ordered. The order was lost due to shift change and they rushed to serve quickly.
Nevertheless, amazing food here and the best pizza around. Despite the annoying wait - we will keep coming.

We had a family gathering for Christmas Eve, we reserved a private room for the gathering, the service was good, very friendly staff, the atmosphere was great too, the Xmas menu (main dishes) were not as expected despite being a bit expensive, the other dishes were tasty.
It deserves another chance to try their specials though.
In general it was very pleasant.

Rocco Charlottenburg Berlin rocks! Their pizzas are top-notch—tried the Diavolo and Mista, both were insanely delicious with fresh toppings and cooked just right. Plus, they're huge! The staff were super friendly and quick with service. The place looks amazing inside, and it's in a sweet spot near the lake. They even have a private room you can book for family hangs. Prices are fair too, not too cheap but not crazy expensive. Definitely worth checking out!

The best Italian restaurant in Town!
Highly recommended.
Delicious traditional food and excellent service.
The portions are great and the waitress was reading my mind.
I will always come back, when I’m in Berlin! Thank you

An excellent, authentic Italian neighborhood restaurant in Charlottenburg!
Perhaps a bit pricey, however, every dish we ordered was excellent and big enough for 2 to share. Lots of seating on the terrace as well!

Six months ago, I had an entrecôte here — it was quite good.
But when I came back recently, the waiter who was clearing the table just flipped the tablecloth over, hiding the stains underneath, and shook all the crumbs off — right onto me.

Very good and original Italian kitchen. Very tasty antipasti. Delicious pasta, excellent meat. Wine? of course. Try the italian specialty Scaloppine. For dessert: crème brûlée, Tiramisu or Gelati.

The food was excellent and I ordered spicy.
Often you order spicy but either it’s come too hot or it’s simple. In Prema we got the perfect taste and spicy.
Next time in Berlin sure we will visit Prema.

Absolutely delicious — best Turkish döner I’ve ever had!
I came here with my parents and we ordered three different dishes: a kebab wrap, a kebab sandwich, and kebab with rice. Every single one was so good! The people here are incredibly friendly, and at the end, the owner even treated us to Turkish tea — such a lovely gesture!
The kebab sandwich was the best I’ve ever had, and the rice was amazing — salty, fragrant, and full of flavor. Who would have thought we’d be completely won over by Turkish food in Berlin? Absolutely delicious — highly recommend!

Followed my taxi driver’s suggestion I came here for the döner kebab and I was very satisfied. Crispy but not dry meat and bread, tasty, full of flavours - this size for €7. Friendly guys.

Are there a little earlier today. Went with my mom who can sometimes be critical, she loved it. I loved it. We had just come into Berlin and were ready for some non German food. Food was good and the price was right. Two meals with fries and soda for 25 euros, can’t go wrong. Several locals coming and going the moment it opened up is always a good sign. No complaints and I will go back as it’s across the street basically from the B&B hotel.

Didn't try the kebab but was curious because it is always packed. They have a very nice selection of different salads at.an affordable price. Börek is also not bad. Service is efficient but not unfriendly.

Food Quality: very good steaks. Prepared to the perfect requested point. Pizzas also looked amazing as we saw them go by. Desserts are also quite good. Leave some space for the end 😉
Portions: very nice portion. Served with a mix of the daily vegetables and potatoes.
Drinks: a nice variety of Italian wines, and of course all the usual drinks.
Price: $$-$$$ not very expensive for the type and quality of food ordered. Pizzas had a very reasonable price. So depends what you wish to order.
Service: very friendly staff.
Atmosphere: tables outside are very enjoyable and relaxing.
Highlights: nice steaks. Good service.
Payment Method: cash, CC

Really nice food and they prepare the food on the basis of availability and season. Mussels are just they best. Tune steak is super yummy as well.
Ordering takes some time for whatever reason. You sit and have to wait and really have to hunt them down (wave and call) to get there attention. Happened all the three times i have been there.
No complain about the friendliness of the staff - polite and friendly. Totally reasonable prices compared to the other italian restaurants around the neighborhood.

An immobile journey to the heart of Italy, with the sun on the ceiling and on the plate, a great moment and a pleasant surprise. It was a seasonal dish with asparagus, shrimp and gnocchi accompanied by a small white wine sauce, all beautifully spiced. Highly recommended if you're in the neighborhood.

One of the best Italian meals I’ve ever had, and I’ve eaten Italian all over the world! The vongole was extraordinary, and my companion ate gnocchi in a perfect sage sauce. A beautiful inconspicuous restaurant in one of Berlin’s most lovely neighbourhoods.

Lily's has a very well-deserved high rating. Absolutely amazing burgers prepared by a very cool and easy chef who is a master at his craft.
When the burgers are delivered to your table, just try not to be intimidated. Don't run away crying for your mummy. Just take a deep breath, find the courage deep inside. Tell yourself that you were made for this type of challenge: you can do it.
Ordered the FBI and the JFK; they were far and away the best burgers we've eaten anywhere from LA to NY to Dubai, Seoul and Tokyo. Very well done. We will make this an absolute must when we return.

Absolutely amazing. We were new to Berlin and wanted to have a last meal before we flew home. Ordered the vegan half pounder with bacon, onions, vegan cheese, lettuce and mayo (I think 🤭). While my partner had the beef half pounder with the same fillings. Coleslaw, Mac&cheese and chips. INSANE. A good atmosphere, great customer service. Good decent affordable prices. We'd go back in a heartbeat!

The staff is extremely nice and welcoming and even told us Bon Appetit in our native language. Generous portions of yummy hamburgers and fries. Highly recommended for vegetarians.

One of the best experiences we’ve had in Germany the chef was fantastic, friendly, and the food was some of the best I’ve had ever. If you are in Berlin this is the stop for burgers!
Ryan - 3 months ago
Huge, juicy burgers that are so dripping with saucy goodness, you are provided with latex gloves as a convenience!
Portions are large, and everything is made fresh.
Here’s something really special: basically everything on the menu can be made vegetarian or vegan! They have plant-based burgers, bacon, chicken, etc. Fantastic!
I had a vegetarian cheeseburger (see pic) and was stuffed. Will definitely visit again to try more.
The atmosphere is somewhat chaotic, but not necessarily in a bad way. The fact that you can write on all the walls and tables adds a cool, alternative vibe, but also makes it hard to see if the table is clean or not.

We really liked this place. Food was good and the servings were big too. Chicken curry taste better than many in Berlin. The service was really nice and they were really taking care of the people. Ambience was also good, there was a huge screen for sports. I would really recommend this place.

I had a remarkable evening at Chenab that I must share.
The service was impeccable. The waitstaff was exceptionally attentive, ensuring that everything was just right throughout the evening.
Now, let's talk about the food: It was a true gastronomic delight, a burst of exquisite flavors. I opted for the Lamb Okra, and it was simply sensational. 🍛
The restaurant's ambiance was both elegant and cozy, making it a perfect setting for a delightful dinner.
Portion sizes were substantial. I recommend!!!

We are back after 3 years of lock down and what not… we have been a little nervous because of reviews pointing at bad service. HONESTLY we are having amazing service. I even asked for onion pakoras (not on the menu) and it was made especially for us! It is now a tradition that we will visit Chenab, when we are in town:-) Try the vegetarian Tikka Paneer and the Lamb Biryani Hyderabad… and maybe treat yourself with the off-menu onion pakoras;-)

Chenab is far from the usual buzz of the usual nightlife spots of Berlin, but definitely worth a visit. The food in general is very good and I can especially recommend the kaddy, dal and palak dishes. The staff is lovely and they have a great sense of humor too.
All in all a great place.

Cute restaurant with a nice interior and great Sicilian wine... loved the seasonal menu, and the pizza dough was clearly baked on a stone stove. A big plus! Everything was tasty, made fresh, and the homemade limoncello is refreshing.
