⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hidden spot near Warschauer Platz that I somehow missed many times before.
Finally stopped by and tried the schnitzel and it was excellent.
Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, with generous portions. The potato salad and fries were both very good as well.
The place has a cool Berlin vibe with posters all over the walls and a relaxed atmosphere. Great stop if you’re around Friedrichshain and looking for a proper schnitzel.
Would definitely come back.

I enjoyed the vibe of this place! It’s quite cool and one of my favourite places for budget schnitzel. They even have Seitan Schnitzel for Veg or Vegan option.
Right on the Warschauer Straße, Next to the big crossing, it’s hard to miss! Easily accessible by bus, tram, S Bahn U Bahn. They have limited option of drinks but definitely try the different hausgemacht sauces they have! Remoulade is my favourite.
It’s self service which is quite convenient. You can place your order with the QR code or the machine there and it’s simple!
Just grab any available seat or even stack up beer crates to make your own seat! It’s a people’s place with a chic Berlin vibe!

We came here to try the schnitzel and we order it in a burger. It's a nice way to eat it since you don't have to use any utensils and it was really tender and flavorful and it even included fries. On top of that the place is quite nice and the prices are excellent. Definitely recommend it.

Very good schnitzel, great super crunchy fries, awesome potato salad. I love that you can just serve the sauces yourself, my absolute favourites were chilli mayo and aioli. Very recommended!

One of the best schnitzels I’ve ever tasted, if not the best. Perfectly cooked, thin, crispy outside and juicy inside, as it should be! Really good and friendly service. Great value for money! Nice location!

I went on my own and the very nice team made me feel more than welcome and comfortable the moment I arrived. the atmosphere is relaxed, the interior effortless and the food definitely worth a visit. actually I could have been just satisfied with the bread and butter alone - 100 one of the best I’ve ever had. but then the deer: perfection on point. honestly I did not even expect that much. also a nice selection of wine by the glass. highly recommend.

I had been looking forward to visiting this place for some time and i finally went with my wife just last week.
We greatly enjoyed the food, the wine, the service and the atmosphere. The dishes were creative, very tasty and beautifully presented.
We ordered a la carte, vs the chefs choices menu, since we wanted to try different things, but both options are good.
It was very nice to learn that the menu changes a few times per year, since i am sure we will visit this restaurant many more times.

One of my favourite places, it is a joy to keep coming. The service is spectacular, the drink selection is super interesting and the food is 80% of the time amazing.
There are some wonderful dishes I keep craving for days like the corn “ribs”, game arancini or hispi cabbage. Sometimes I’ve ordered things that taste like dog food. But it is worth the try! I respect the creativity and dare. Also the dishes keep changing.
For me also de interior design of the cafe/bar is a masterpiece; I keep finding new details on every visit that make me understand the lore of the project.
It is just a wonderful place with a soul and a beatimg heart I will keep coming to. ♥️

Great fine dining experience. I was positively surprised — the service was extremely attentive (took notes of my food allergies), the food was excellent (especially the pumpkin gnocchi! Melting in the mouth), the portions bigger than expected. All in all, even though it’s not cheap, it’s totally worth it. I will for sure be back. Thank you!

It was very cold and rainy so had to find a quick shelter and this place was conveniently located in front of the train station. I just ordered latte macchiato which was not bad just wished it was hotter, and the croissant was good to be fair. The young lady at the cashier was very nice and welcoming so service was great. It's a nice spot to people watch as well and watch the world go by.

Lovely little cafe/bakery. Nice pastries and staff were friendly, helpful and had great English. My non existent German wasn't an issue at all.

Easy to locate and a fair number of seats to take a rest. Drinks are meh though. Ordered a Vanilla Latte but it wasn't nice. Tasted diluted with no vanilla fragrance. Look of the drink was okay though. Rather disappointing cos I have tasted better Vanilla Lattes at other Starbucks.
Can give this starbuck a miss if you are into nice coffee. 😑

Loved every part of this place! Food was fast and incredibly good! If you love Korean food, this is the place. The people were also kind, friendly and helpful!

Chicken bulgogi, kimchi jiggae and kimchi pajeon for 2 pax. Superb! Happy to find a Korean restaurant tuck nicely near the East Side Gallery. Kimchi Jeon was abit underwhelming but the rest were great. Highly recommended! Great staff too
Stella Tan - 7 months ago
Very good dish and a sufficient portion size, but the side rice was average.
I have mixed feelings about the service, as I had to wait longer than other customers who arrived after me before my order was taken (several minutes’ difference). The same happened at the end when it was time to pay the bill. The dish also arrived with the knife in the plate covered in sauce…

I enjoyed the food. I had the chicken burger. After eating half of it it felt apart, so that I had to eat with fork and knife. Meat (not too much fat) and ingredients have high quality.

The Schwarma sandwich is OK. Good value for the money 3.5€. But it can be very slow and the staff doesn't have a sense of priority, people who arrived last are served before the ones who ordered before.
Quite slow serving for a fast food. 20 min wait when there is no queue.

Excellent place to get middle eastern food. They have great Shawarmas. Walked in here and had the food inside and it was perfect. Staff was friendly. They have free wifi. Prices are reasonable. Portions are big. Very clean and great service.

Visit this place every time we are in Berlin. Can't beat the falafel bowls or wraps. Reasonably priced and large portions. Would definitely recommend for a nice cheap fast-food kind of pitstop.

Incredibly tasty Chicken Schwarma (Döner Kebab) - it feels like actual chicken meat and not ground meat stuck together on the spit! Also the variety of toppings is amazing!

The Vibe: ✨ Stunning.
There is nothing quite like the energy of a city reflecting off the water. Whether it’s the industrial charm of a bridge or the glittering lights of the financial district, the river creates a sense of space that most "land-locked" restaurants can't compete with.

I had an amazing experience at Pirates Berlin. The place offers a fantastic view, especially by the water, which really adds to the overall atmosphere. The vibe is lively and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to relax with friends. The staff were very friendly and easygoing, which made the experience even better. Overall, it’s easily one of the best bars I’ve ever visited, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great night out in Berlin.

5 ✨ experience with some "headroom" and food for thought...
They had a GREAT NIGHT INSTALLED and I took best with me ;) ... JUSTIN at the gates... the man roams the ship like a first mate, keeping the good souls dancing and walking the troublemakers over the plank. Into the beiboot or home. MARTHA is the soul at the door.. took my pass, think we discussed Bayern and Stuttgart. Sorry underdogs from BaWü - I feel you :/ ...
Behind the bar: "der Flieger" MAX - 'Truppe' vibes (although I heard they smell like Rasierwasser whereas I preferred the Meerwasser but always went for the smell of mud...), acted like a seasoned 'OFw' and the discipline shows for T IAGO and GINO and the rest. 1A CREW. All more than able to serve a drink extra skinny and avoid having too much B*** in it when the captain needs to pace himself through the night.
Smart concept: they 'paused' the basement to keep the crowd together past 2am. Non-stop. Great DJs. Also a solid spot for business during the day and fruitful late-night discussions. And when a blonde lady found herself in a spot of trouble and my comments and ask "bar support, PLEASE!!!, Mr. T. ... ;)" stayed quiet and ineffective... well.. sometimes the CAPTAIN sorts it himself: Not my job. But 'dran... druff... drüber...' some things you don't unlearn after wearing the "grüne Paradeuniformen with extra mud on it" at 182. Panzergrenadiere at Bad Segeberg...
The crew checks in on you... even at the facilities and the level of party crew dizziness ("is the soap dispenser working?" they asked to check if other drunken sailors need some "extra water").
Only thing keeping service high as my standards: the mate with the cap at the ground floor taking care of the TOILETS ‼️: MATE!!! (serving from before midnight til the morning hours and getting a fortune of my "silver coins"... we share the proceeds of the "Raubzug"... the phone, the napping, the slippery (!!!!!) floor. Swab the deck and DO YOUR WORK. 🤦❤️🩹 The better ones upstairs though.. if you know, you know.
PS.. ask for the Edamame Caesar's with chicken "for the gains" by day...proper good. And avoid having cigars in the spacious corners outside... that's for me! Kids don't try this at home.
This place is a 'not so hidde' jewel. Might just become a spot with BIG RED X on my Berlin TREASURE MAP.. and I intend to look for the one or other treasures in the weeks ahead. Berlin stays "a thing" 🏴☠ ... Drink up me 'earties, yo ho... Yo ho, yo ho, a PIRATE′s life for me!
Max - 3 weeks ago
I love Pirates! Ad in writing this review, my most recent visit was my third time there and it's absolutely delightful! The food is always top notch, really obsessed with the Honey BBQ ribs, they're wonderful and I keep seeing the words just slip out when I get asked what to order🤭 regardless, usually the atmosphere is amazing as well, this time I was jsut really interestingly surprised by the choice of music playing, very funny in a techno edm way- if that's your vibe though, you'll love a night here! If not, I recommend going for lunch :)

I regularly visit Berlin but made my first ever trip to Pirates 2 weeks ago and I’ll definitely be back.
First of all the location is absolutely amazing a short walk from Warschauerstraße and right next to the Eastside Gallery and the Oberbaumbrücke which makes it a great place to stop by if you’ve been doing all the touristy stuff
The second big selling point for me was the range of drinks available I can’t comment on the food as I just stopped by for drinks with a group of friends but a great menu with beer, cocktails and sprits so something to suit everyone! The iced strawberry daiquiri was especially nice on the hot day!
I also have to say the staff were lovely and made sure we were well looked after… it is rare of this style of bar to have table service so it was really nice to get that experience the service was also friendly and quick.
Overall Pirates is a great spot for a drink or lunch in Eastern Berlin and the prices are reasonable compared to other options in the area.

The people here are honestly so nice – really warm and welcoming. The place is super clean, and the whole vibe just puts you in a good mood. If you go, you have to try the caramel nuts, especially the cashews. Trust me, they’re insanely good.

I wanted to go in for some time but my German is so bad I was too nervous. I finally went in and the lady was so nice. She suggested I get 300g because it was a special price of the mixed caramel nuts but I said no; I wasn’t sure if I would like it but woah! I definitely should have gotten the 300g! So tasty and delicious! My new favorite snack for sure!

I didn't rate the food because I didn't eat Anything there. I was there for drinks. The place is an aesthetic cafe bar. One can just grab a book and relax or have quality time with their friends.

Really tasty carrot cake, coffee also was nice, a bit small. Didn’t get how ordering works, felt a bit chaotic and left alone. Overall was fine, unfortunately one big group joined me at my table, so reading and enjoying my coffee wasn’t possible but it wasn’t restaurant problem that sth like this happened.

The atmosphere was cozy and warm , service was on point and friendly. Had the best ginger tea that treated my throat on the spot and the cheese cake was spectacular I would definitely recommend if you want a chill evening. 10/10
