Reviews
Amazing food served in a tiny space, service is very quick and the order process very efficient and easy. Even though the space is small and they cook a lots of Schnitzels, the place does not feel crowded and you can not smell a bit if frying oil. The food is tasty and the price is very good for the amount of food you get.
Oriol (Orca) - a week ago
We came here to try their schnitzel, and ordered a plate and a burger. We got the Wiener schnitzel (veal escalope with clarified butter and cranberries, with potato salad with mayonnaise as side) and the classic burger (pork escalope with homemade remoulade, pickled cucumber and salad). They have sauce dispensers, and we liked the curry one the most. The veal schnitzel was really good, while the pork schnitzel was just okay. The cranberry sauce was tasty, and so was the potato salad. If we were back, we would only order veal, or try turkey.

If you are looking for fast service and love schnitzel, this is a great place to go. You can order through your phone or the screen and you will have your order in the next few minutes. The seating is first come first serve, the space is small, but there are a lot of tables to share space. We ordered veal and pork schnitzel. The veal one was juicier. But we both enjoyed the food.

Food here is SO good! I came 5 years ago and is still great. Just a small nook under the bridge they do 1 thing but do it so well! Also the system is very straight forward, you order and pay (card accepted) get a number and wait until is called or up on the screen then go pick up your order. Excellent potato salad super tasty Schnitzels everything is pretty great! Worth a visit after sunset right across east gallery / Oberbaum bridge.

OMG!!! Doesn't look like much, but don't judge a book by its cover. The schnitzel is amazing and the prices are beyond reasonable... highly recommend that you ready here... you won't be disappointed

I had been looking forward to visiting this place for some time and i finally went with my wife just last week.
We greatly enjoyed the food, the wine, the service and the atmosphere. The dishes were creative, very tasty and beautifully presented.
We ordered a la carte, vs the chefs choices menu, since we wanted to try different things, but both options are good.
It was very nice to learn that the menu changes a few times per year, since i am sure we will visit this restaurant many more times.

Very cozy cafe with inside and outside seating. The staff were attentive and extremely kind. We got the cinnamon role, muse and soup of the day. They were all delicious and I recommend all three. Only wish was if they give more bread for the soup as it is 8 euros.

Breakfast at Michelberger Hotel
I stayed at the Michelberger hotel for ten nights, and breakfast was honestly the best things about it. It had an assortment of breads, normally four or five kinds, along with jam, beanut butter, Nutella, and marmalade. Next was the fresh fruit and the cooked vegetables, and then oatmeal, a protein that varied, eggs, and normally a vegan option. There was also granola and yogurt, along with a chacuterie board with various meats and cheeses. Overall, a really wonderful and plentiful breakfast that made you want to sit in the restaurant for hours, drinking apple juice and snacking on fresh bread with homemade jam. I highly recommend going here for the buffet style meal! All the food seems wonderfully made with care, and it has such a incredible atmosphere.

One of my favourite places, it is a joy to keep coming. The service is spectacular, the drink selection is super interesting and the food is 80% of the time amazing.
There are some wonderful dishes I keep craving for days like the corn “ribs”, game arancini or hispi cabbage. Sometimes I’ve ordered things that taste like dog food. But it is worth the try! I respect the creativity and dare. Also the dishes keep changing.
For me also de interior design of the cafe/bar is a masterpiece; I keep finding new details on every visit that make me understand the lore of the project.
It is just a wonderful place with a soul and a beatimg heart I will keep coming to. ♥️

I do not recommend this restaurant because the price-quantity ratio is too low and the quality of service is too poor.
The Hokkaido was undercooked and therefore difficult to eat. EUR 32 for two small pieces of deer is too expensive, and the cooked shallot was cold! The crockery was chipped: I remember the coffee cup and the dessert bowl.
And the ‘Thanks, guys’ greeting seemed too familiar to me, not to mention the insistence of the person at the till to give a tip.
I do not recommend it!

It was very cold and rainy so had to find a quick shelter and this place was conveniently located in front of the train station. I just ordered latte macchiato which was not bad just wished it was hotter, and the croissant was good to be fair. The young lady at the cashier was very nice and welcoming so service was great. It's a nice spot to people watch as well and watch the world go by.

Lovely little cafe/bakery. Nice pastries and staff were friendly, helpful and had great English. My non existent German wasn't an issue at all.

I’ve been there at the beginning of October. The coffee was good. I would like to point especially the service — the baristas were incredibly kind to me! It was my first day in Berlin, and they were extremely friendly and polite. The desserts are very tasty! I think this place is a very nice option to start the trip to the East Side gallery.

Very nice place for breakfast, lunch or just a cup of coffee. Me and my girlfriend stayed for almost 1,5 hours just enjoying watching people and chill in the bakery. Nice staff as well, would recommend.

Chicken bulgogi, kimchi jiggae and kimchi pajeon for 2 pax. Superb! Happy to find a Korean restaurant tuck nicely near the East Side Gallery. Kimchi Jeon was abit underwhelming but the rest were great. Highly recommended! Great staff too

I enjoyed the food. I had the chicken burger. After eating half of it it felt apart, so that I had to eat with fork and knife. Meat (not too much fat) and ingredients have high quality.

We had such a good time here! The staff were super friendly and really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was tasty and fresh, but honestly, the service was what made it extra special. Can’t wait to come back!

Been there twice, once in 2023 and once in 2025. Since 2023, the prices have seriously gone up, even the water was really expensive. I am quite disappointed that the prices went up that much, but the food is nonetheless really good.

The Schwarma sandwich is OK. Good value for the money 3.5€. But it can be very slow and the staff doesn't have a sense of priority, people who arrived last are served before the ones who ordered before.
Quite slow serving for a fast food. 20 min wait when there is no queue.

Excellent place to get middle eastern food. They have great Shawarmas. Walked in here and had the food inside and it was perfect. Staff was friendly. They have free wifi. Prices are reasonable. Portions are big. Very clean and great service.

Visit this place every time we are in Berlin. Can't beat the falafel bowls or wraps. Reasonably priced and large portions. Would definitely recommend for a nice cheap fast-food kind of pitstop.

Incredibly tasty Chicken Schwarma (Döner Kebab) - it feels like actual chicken meat and not ground meat stuck together on the spit! Also the variety of toppings is amazing!

I was really looking to try this in Berlin, and I found this place accidentally, the staff are friendly and they speak English very good, and they are very patient 😅 "I ordered fries and cancelled it".
I chosed chicken sausage and it was really nice,

I love Pirates! Ad in writing this review, my most recent visit was my third time there and it's absolutely delightful! The food is always top notch, really obsessed with the Honey BBQ ribs, they're wonderful and I keep seeing the words just slip out when I get asked what to order🤭 regardless, usually the atmosphere is amazing as well, this time I was jsut really interestingly surprised by the choice of music playing, very funny in a techno edm way- if that's your vibe though, you'll love a night here! If not, I recommend going for lunch :)

Great atmosphere, and the waiters were very friendly! We had some extra charges on our bill, which they corrected, but I recommend always checking your bill! I don't know if it was an mistake or a trick on the part of the restaurant because we're tourists!

Delicious food. The burger ordered tasted great, the pizza was not greasy, it was just right. I could barely move after eating it. Service friendly as well as helpful. The atmosphere of this place is unique, a bit spartan but atmospheric. I recommend for a delicious dish with a beer.

Been here many times, usually after a night out. It's relatively quiet, decent pizza and beer. Service is always flawless, friendly helpful people, who greet you with a smile and are happy to chat. They play mostly 80s and 90s music, which suits me, not too loud, which makes it a good background to chill with friends. We normally get a 60cm pizza and a few beers, relax until ready for more energetic activities.

The people here are honestly so nice – really warm and welcoming. The place is super clean, and the whole vibe just puts you in a good mood. If you go, you have to try the caramel nuts, especially the cashews. Trust me, they’re insanely good.

I wanted to go in for some time but my German is so bad I was too nervous. I finally went in and the lady was so nice. She suggested I get 300g because it was a special price of the mixed caramel nuts but I said no; I wasn’t sure if I would like it but woah! I definitely should have gotten the 300g! So tasty and delicious! My new favorite snack for sure!

Cool spot for coffee/cocktails/brunch etc., great vibes, BUT terrible service. We waited more than 35 minutes for a waiter to come and take our order, which was only coffee/tea. I even tried to order at the counter, but I was sent back to the table 😅. Also, the matcha was poor quality — even the color was a pale green (really pale). Didn't even try to order food...

Had brunch as this spot at weekend. The brunch was buffet style with well curated home made selection of food. They had also many vegetarian options as well. The food was delicious.

I come here almost every week. I adore this café. The vibes are immaculate, the crowd it attracts is amazing, and the service is great. It’s a nice place to have a glass of wine and catch up with friends but it’s also great to sit and do some focus work on your laptop. I work remotely sometimes and I like to work from this café. Can’t recommend this place enough!
Pearl Mirembe - 9 months ago
Dear Michelberger team, I've spent a couple of days in Berlin and you certainly did meet up to my expectations, no complaints. I cannot give 5 stars to everyone. Let me explain... If I gave 5 stars to ITA bistro and Remi, 4 stars to Ora, then I have to give 3 to Michelberger. This is a fully personal opinion. For other people it might differ from what I feel and think. Keep up the good work though. Kind Regards
Christ Vererfven - 3 weeks ago
Love this place. Great food (bread with whipped butter alone is to DIE FOR - bury me with this stuff). Whoever is in that kitchen: you know what you’re doing and I see you!!
Very pretty and chill ambience with multiple seating options, from sofas to tables inside to tables outside in the courtyard. The staff mostly speak English, but this is a hotel so an international crowd is to be expected.
I work on my laptop here and the wifi is great, plus I’m not ushered out after a certain time. It’s very close to the tram and to the east side gallery so the location is convenient.
One funny thing is the bathroom. The lack of light and dark colors are giving chamber lol. Don’t expect to be able to fix your makeup in there.
Overall though great job on this cafe, guys! Really appreciate the vibes.
